LadyxGaGa 1,964 Posted September 30, 2019 Share Posted September 30, 2019 born this way isn't a bad album per se, but it was the worse album to release at the time. for example or just the idea of pretend if she had released joanne after the fame monster, I think it would have been bigger than born this way and joanne was at their respected time. at the height of born this way, her fame was astronomical, like she was on par with britney mania or even beatlemania however you wanna look at it, E V E R Y O N E had all eyes at gaga at this time, from straights, gays, uglies, models, the decrepit, to and fro everywhere, so to further explain why the timing was off was because born this way sealed gaga's coffin of surprise, after born this way she became in a way predictable, especially when ARTPOP came around, which honestly was her ode to the fans. it was gay, it has bops, it was cohesive, but it was also predictable, the shock value which what propelled her to the ****ing greats in a matter of like 2-3 years? was insane at that time, we hadn't seen that happen since britney, and before that idk, nirvana for grunge? but anyways in conclusion none of her albums are bad at all, not even in retrospect, she makes great pop music, but I think her element of surprise or lack there of at least as of late was her fame downfall ps. a star is born was is consider an element of surprise, no actual fan thought she couldn't act, but she made news one that now know she can. I actually think TFM, BTW, ARTPOP, Joanne,and ASIB are all equally amazing and none of them are “out-done” by another. Depending on what mood I’m in, my favorite album for that day changes. What I choose to listen to often is determined by my mood. If you're referring to eras, even each era also is distinctive. More subdued eras like Joanne and ASIB work because of the earlier, flashier eras that we had. I hope with LG6 she won't focus on "topping" out "outdoing" previous eras but instead on doing something unique and true to her vision for that album. Sales I'm guessing it's TF (especially they added TFM into it?) The most impact among GP is probably TFM. The most impact and wide spread among the general gays is probably BTW.
