And knowing the fans they’ll probably want the exact same style as the first Cheek to Cheek (1930’s swing/1940’s Jazz). I want Gaga to move forward, not retrace her steps. She already did that with A Star Is Born. If she does another jazz record, it has to be of a newer style, like something such as Bobby Caldwell’s “What You Won’t Do For Love”, Kenny G’s “Havana”, and/or Grover Washington’s “Just the Two of Us”. I would also love to see Gaga do a jazz-house track like Madonna’s “Secret Garden” or a Jazz-Hop song like “Where Life Begins”, both off of her Erotica album, but that would be better reserved for her pop albums instead. Basically, if she is gonna do a jazz album, I’m not gonna be here for it if it isn’t in a more modern style than what she did before. And all the songs have to be in common time. She first pushed a few months, then a few other and here we are now. Shallow's longevity, Haus Labs, the Holiday season all got in their way. Do you remember that Polydor list of artists that were supposed to release this year and how Gaga was in it? Now according to them she is supposed to release the next year. Of course her contract may include details of when her albums must come but we don't have a clue about the specific conditions of her contract. Maybe they consider ASIB a studio album, maybe she has more freedom with her new contract? To assume what Ms Swift said was indeed true when everything he says becomes true and how we already know that Gaga doesn't stick to plans from the past eras is not far-fetched at all.
