RAMROD 110,411
There are long list of popular celeb skin care and make up line before Kyle Jenner. But 90s born people would know so y'all are forgiven. However, a simple effort searching on google will help tho! Say, Gwyneth Paltrow (since 2008), Iman (since 1994), Cindy Crawford (since 2005) to name some. (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ✧*:・゚ But if you can't be good, then just be better at it (*´艸`*) ♡♡♡

Lord Temptation 11,209
It started in the mid 90s but was quiet until the late 2000s when it exploded after Cindy Crawford, Gwyneth and others.

I agree that Kylie made it trendy and a big deal for teenagers, but the question was about who started it, not who marketed it to the youth and social media market. ChromeAngel 3,230
Why would a Nicki collaboration with MAC be on that list? Anyway, definitely Kylie. Jeffree Star also paved the way.
Fanta 5,019
I love everything about Rihanna’s approach and design, even if I don’t care much for her the visuals and overall appeal for her line are outstanding. I really like the products from House Labs as well, especially the eye makeup, but I can’t wait for Gaga to dispose of the tacky shoot and give us the good stuff. It’s still in the start up stage so I’ll give her time, I applaud her doing everything on her own...kinda lol.
Fanta 5,019
Also on topic, I think even though Kylie isn’t the first to succeed she made a ton of money from her makeup line and that’s what is making all these artists want to secure their spot in the beauty the industry. It’s a cash cow, for everybody involved.

Celebrity makeup lines have existed for decades. But there’s obviously a difference between then and the last few years, especially just this last year, when there’s a new brand being released literally every week.
