Why do fans doubt Gaga?

For instance, most people on here thought ASIB would flop and wanted Gaga to record The Cure mv instead of filming ASIB :fail:

Years later, it grossed over 400m worldwide, is critically praised and Gaga got an Oscar for it & a Best Actress Nomination + hundreds of awards for it. Shallow become one of her signature hits too.

Now, Haus Labs is getting mostly positive reviews from everyone even from makeup gurus like Jeffree Star. And people said it wouldn't do well.

Why?

Because she isnt releasing TFM pt 7 or Born This Way pt 4 so it will never be good enough. :trollga:

On a more serious note, it probably stems from the ARTPOP era where she wasnt as successful as previously shown, even tho she was still hugely successful, so they try and limit their expectations for everything she is doing. :huntyga:

The GP has forgotten about ARTPOP being a (platinum certified) "flop." Why cant we :oprah:

They can't help it.  Part of what connects us is mental illness especially depression and anxiety.  But also delusion.

It's human nature to want to see higher level people fail, Gaga said so herself. The only thing she's ever done was set standards in pop music, entertainment, and now cosmetics, and people don't want to see that even though they know it's true.

People hate Enigma for the same reason, it's getting HUGE positive reviews from the GP but Little Monsters like to have a different opinion just cause it's the "cool thing to do" on here :green:

And they want to see the show fail, but it won't, cause currently it's one of the best and one of the most well known Las Vegas residencies out there, she'll never fail anything if she's being herself 100% of the time and so far that's mostly how it's been. #BattleForYourLife :firega:

Because deep down they do NOT want Lady Gaga to succeed with the GP, the mainstream. It takes away their only act of rebellion (i.e stanning for the weirdo pop star who sings about disco sticks and has people vomit on her for shock value). They believe admiring those aspects of LG makes them special themselves.

They don’t want to stan for the Oscar winning, Golden Globe winning, actress, Grammy winning global popstar turned successful entrepreneur, whose last album gets played in the car by moms on their way to buy 4th of July shirts for their kids at Old Navy.

It leaves nothing left to fight for.

People also like complaining on the internet.

Honestly, I think a lot of fans are very emotionally invested in Gaga and her successes and failures, maybe even more than they know or would acknowledge. And so their pessimism is a form of self preservation, like "expect the worse and I won't get hurt".  I would agree that is does go back to the ARTPOP era somewhat.

Or course some fans are just Bitter Betty's that can't be pleased, some people are just like that.

For some, I think they are just scared. They don't want to be hopeful and then be disappointed later, as a result they end up being very pessimistic!

I think they’re criticizing her choices because they themselves are afraid of seeing her fail, so they don’t want her to branch off into anything she’s never done before because they’re afraid of potential backlash. I think it started with Cheek To Cheek her first non-pop album (which saved her career), then Joanne a country inspired album (which saved her image).

I’m getting this theory from my grandma, whom uses criticism to show her love :cryga:

1 minute ago, Bio said:

I don't think people said it wasn't going to do well, I think it was more of a wish lol. Which is sad.

I've seen both on the Haus Lab event thread which is still sad. Saying you want Gaga to flop just because she isn't doing what you want her to do is so selfish and petty.

(this isn't directly to you btw)
