Garchomp:

Appearance-wise, Garchomp seems like a cross between a wyvern, various species of sharks (including the hammerhead), and possibly a dromaeosaurid or other theropod dinosaur. In particular, considering Garchomp's saurian build with sharklike features, it may be a visual play on the Carcharodontosaurus, a theropod dinosaur whose name means "shark-toothed lizard". Its design also strongly resembles a jet aircraft.

Although the Garchomp in PokéPark Wii: Pikachu's Adventure and its sequel has no notch on his fin, he is referred to as male.

In an early Japanese trailer for Platinum Version, a prototype front sprite is seen that is different from the final sprite.

When it folds up its body and extends its wings, it looks like a jet plane. It flies at sonic speed.

It flies at speeds equal to a jet fighter plane. It never allows its prey to escape.

It is said that when one runs at high speed, its wings create blades of wind that can fell nearby trees.

 

Darkrai

Darkrai's appearance and abilities suggest it is based on the concept of nightmares. Resembling a shadow, it may also have been inspired by the bogeyman, the Greek god Morpheus, genies (or jinn), or the Oneiroi, namely Phobetor.

Darkrai's effort value yield of 2 Special Attack and 1 Speed is unique.

Darkrai has two different portrait pictures in both Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time and Explorers of Darkness, and Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky.

Sailor Eldritch's son says "Dar... Dark... Is watching me..." in his sleep before the player cures his nightmare. It is assumed that he is talking about Darkrai, as it is known to give its victims horrific nightmares.

If Darkrai was the cause of the sailor's son's nightmares, it can be assumed Darkrai is aware that the player cured the boy using Cresselia's Lunar Wing. When the player takes the Member Card to the Harbor Inn, the innkeeper (presumably an illusion created by Darkrai) states that he has been waiting for the player's arrival.

In the early Japanese versions of Diamond and Pearl, Darkrai can be caught with the Surf glitch. However, this glitch was fixed in other language versions. Another glitch has been discovered that allows players of other language releases to reach Darkrai without the Member Card.

This has been remedied in Pokémon Platinum, however, as Darkrai itself will not appear on the island without the event ticket.

Darkrai was designed by Hironobu Yoshida.

So, with 7 votes, we unfortunately have to say goodbye to Garchomp and @Talenti  I guess Darkrai didn't like someone else got to beat Cresselia so he went with full force and defeated one of the strongest participants in his first battle for elimination. It's just a shame Garchomp was the one who suffered here, I mean not even top 10? crazy 

Also, Darkrai is safe in the next round.
