Warren in clear second place in 2020 race (NBC poll)

This is not directed at anyone. But there’s a difference between Warren and Sanders. Simply put, Bernie Sanders believes in a social democracy. Elizabeth Warren believes in a reformed version of capitalism. Clearly two different visions. (If someone can put it better than me, please do).

I say this because one of the questions we (Bernie supporters) are always asked is why not Warren over Bernie? “They’re the same.”

I honestly see him winning in large part because of name recognition. 

Let’s be honest. Most voters aren’t looking into candidates or policies like us politics nerds on here.

OT: Besides the reasons given for this poll looking like an outlier, I’m not bothered. My candidate has some of the highest Latino support, the most individual donors, the most money, the most volunteers, the biggest email list, polls better than Warren against Trump, recent polls in Nevada and New Hampshire have Sanders leading and has the most donations among Obama-Trump counties

Yall wonder why the “Bernie Bro” narrative exists (though there is no such thing as the 2020 cycle has proven; in fact, it’s a really sexist term and is only erasure to the many women & POC who support him) and why Bernie supporters are so aggressive and yet at the same time spew this level of ignorance. From this poll, yes I believe he should drop out. If the polls said she was lower I’d want her to drop. They hold mostly the same values and most voters (atleast that I know) would be more than willing to vote for the other if their candidate dropped out. I don’t believe either of them will beat Biden in the primary, but I believe if one drops and even a quarter of their voters go to the other, they could win. Biden is far too moderate and probably won’t beat Trump anyway.

Also, there are ways to have a political discussion without the attitude/insults. I’m always attempting to gain a better understand of the world and politics and would be open for a discussion to expand my learning. I’m down for a civil discussion on politics/world issues with anybody so long as it’s civil.

The fact you think a poll that sampled 500 people is worthy of determining whether or not a candidate for president should drop out then you deserve to be slammed for it. It’s completely outrageous.

Once again the media is doing Bernie wrong. I mean seriously, constantly trying to make it look like the movement he started isn't as powerful as it is, and relentlessly downplaying his electability. How accurate were these polls in 2016? Like, not falling for it.

Warren is their new favorite, clearly. And mark my words, she will lose to Trump. Especially with that whole Native American fiasco. She will lose.

I'm not sure if that's the correct distinction... A socially democratic country is still a capitalist country, but instead of allowing the free market system to create massive inequalities, a social democracy uses the free market system to invest in working class people. 

When Warren says she is a capitalist but believes in helping working class people, going purely by the nomenclature, she's essentially a social democrat. 

Also, side note: Bernie actually identifies, I think wrongly, as a democratic socialist... NOT a social democrat. Although his policies are not socialist. 

More or less, their ideology is the same, but Bernie's proposals offer more supportive social programs and go further than Warren's proposals... They're still under the same ideological umbrella, but Bernie is 'more extreme'... Although in relation to other countries around the world, he's really not that extreme. 

Maybe I made things even more confusing... Let me know.

I would argue that Bernie’s policies are that of a social democracy because our current political system demands that. If you look at Bernie’s history, he’s much less “extreme” nowadays than he was in the 70s. The closest thing I’ve seen of Bernie going back to his more socialist tendencies is the public ownership of utilities. 

But if you based his political identification and compare to his policies, you are 100% correct that his policies are more of a social democracy with a mostly capitalist system rather than democratic socialism.

Idk man. I want to believe this but as much as I want Bernie and Warren to be the last two standing, I feel Biden is going to stay on top and maybe even take the nom. I’m not saying he won’t be defeated. It just seems like he still not going anywhere.

What are they going TO DO to better the lives of working class people? Something impactful. Not just going back to the same. People are sick of it and part of the reason why they elected a non-politician to the White House. 

I'm not saying that we should only strive for beating Trump. That's why I support people like Warren and Sanders. If I believe at all about "electability" or whatever, then I would probably want to vote for someone like Biden (even though I don't necessarily think he's the most "electable" candidate).
