Things like this are what makes me dislike Haus Labs

This thread reminds me of when "Born This Way" came out and all the haters, who had to try and find ways to hate on her, were saying "WHY IS SHE SAYING I'M BEAUTIFUL IN MY WAY IF SHE'S WEARING WIGS AND PROSTHETICS ON HER FACE??????????? SHE IS A FAKE A HYPOCRITE", completely, totally missing the point. I think that's exactly what's going on here.

because wearing ugly stuff to purposely change the image of beauty and having fillers to look like every kardashian clone then trashing them are the same thing

Okay, I've transcribed that sentence (there might be a couple of words that are slightly off, but I have the gist of it):

"There's such a focus on contour, perfection, big lips, things like that, but for me, I wanted to create products, develop things, that would remind people that there's other ways to be beautiful, other ways to express your artistry."

She's not criticizing big lips or saying that people shouldn't have them, just as she's not saying people shouldn't use products to contour their faces, either. (After all, she herself also has had a contoured face many a time, just as yes, she has had fillers at various times.) She's talking about the products she's chosen to develop with Haus Labs and what the focus of the line is at this particular moment. If anything, it could be interpreted as a dig at Kylie Jenner who's trying to peddle lip kits so that consumers can have big lips like hers, which is a joke because she gets lip fillers all the time, and there ain't no makeup that's going to give people those kinds of lips. (But I actually don't think LG was intentionally taking a dig at Kylie, though I am.)

She then says that for her, she found artistry in color, which is where she invented Lady Gaga. She's not claiming she never had fillers for big lips or that she's never used contour, she's saying that for her personally, the heart of who she is as LG is in color, and that's what she likes to focus on when she plays with makeup. Haus Labs is about inclusivity and encouraging people to discover who they are beyond conventional beauty standards. She's not saying there's anything wrong with those standards, but the focus of her makeup line at present is on other things.

She never says that other things like big lips, contour, etc. don't matter, just that for her line, it's not the focus at present, and that more than anything, when she experiments with makeup, she focuses on color.

I have no problem with people constructively criticizing LG or Haus Labs, as I don't think it's healthy to blindly worship celebrities, but I don't see the hypocrisy here. She's always been open about her fillers and has never tried to hide this fact. Now, if she were claiming that her Le Riot Lip Glosses or RIP Lip Liners could give customers big, full lips like she has had when she has lip fillers, then that would be hypocritical, but she's not saying that at all. Hell, she doesn't even have a lipstick in her line yet. Her focus is elsewhere at the moment.

her 'life style'? how is it any of your- i'm not even gonna

you're discussing this quote: it's about contours, big lips, and i want to show people that there are other ways to look beautiful. she absolutely did not say those ways were not valid. this is you assuming that's what she meant because that is how you think. but she never said she condemned these trends, only that she wants to add a pop of creativity and color, and that is exactly how she looks and she loves the way she looks.

ma, don't tell me it's not serious when you made a whole thread about it.

From the same interview "for me it's about bursting the bubble, I just want to tear about everyone's preconceived notions about beauty and just rip it apart completely change it"

But you'll see her at epione having the same big lips, defined cheekbones, spray tan and same makeup as everyone else and all the same preconceived notions of beauty she apparently wants to change, that's what I meant. How does she want to change something she herself is part of.

And it really ain't that serious ma-  running her accusing me (a man) of telling her how to dress up and what not. Gotta love how we can't have an opinion apparently if we aren't women

i see your point but i don't think it's something to get so worked up about. i also rolled my eyes when i heard that sentence, because like chill sis it's literally lip gloss, but that's... literally always been how gaga talks. she makes everything sound so grandiose even when it's not and it's part of her cringe but loveable character for me.

also don't forget that wanting to change does not necessarily mean she has successfully achieved it yet. maybe that's her ultimate goal.

I'm not mad at her for selling makeup, get your coins girl. But I hate the clear dishonesty of this whole promo campaign.

I've been vocal in here about her fillers, and for her to mention in this interview how big lips don't matter to her, WHILE having fillers, taht dun make no cents luv :air:

Nah, what's the point of this thread? You clearly were never going to like Haus Labs, probably for many reasons. But it's happened. It's not going away. If you don't like what Gaga stands for then you can move on.  Or ignore

Ha, it's almost like you can take your own advice!
