3rd Democratic Primary Debate Discussion

Biden does NOT have the temperament to be president. He cannot take any stab at him lightly. Are his supporters really delusional enough to think he stands a CHANCE against debating someone like Trump?! Castro was easy on him, IMO. If the DC ruins this election for us again before it even starts, I’m seriously revoking my party membership.

So all we got were more empty platitudes from Pete Buttigieg and Kamala Harris again, no policy proposals or actual plans. I suspect they will flatline and fizzle out soon enough, especially considering they're running purely on big donor money now. Pete for instance has the largest number of billionaire donors donating to his campaign of all the Democratic candidates.

Lol. Is this the only attack *some*(again, I say some not all, don't want to paint everyone in a broad brush before anyone quotes) Sanders supporters have left in their toolbox? To continue to cling to false narratives and misrepresentations? He literally has a whole ass policy platform on his website(https://peteforamerica.com/issues/), has released 8 extremely comprehensive plans, literally shouted out his Black Agenda - Douglass plan on that stage yet "empty platitudes, no policy proposals or actual plans". What a laughable statement, seriously. It's called nuance, not everyone gets it. Thankfully he has 400k donors, now definitely more, who understand it and are rooting for him for a more united country, a message he continued to hammer in today's debates and remains the only candidate to consistently do so in every debate.  If this is the only thing you can come up with, you'll have to try much, much harder.

Also his "billionaire donors" can literally donate as much as everyone else, a maximum of $2800 per the FEC limit and have no say or influence, just like everyone else donating. He also recently raised $750k in a single day from just grassroots donations without any event, debate push or end of quarter deadline. But I guess facts are less important now than conspiracy  theories.

Does it not hurt to be this willfully ignorant? It's okay to support a candidate but do it without spreading lies and disinformation and forcing false narratives about others. That'd be great.

He's going nowhere. He has enough money to sustain his campaign all the way till the end. Stay pressed and deal with it.

I am getting really tired of boomers deciding our elections. They're the reason Trump is in office, and they're also the reason that Biden is currently the Democratic frontrunner despite the fact that he's one of the weakest candidates. I personally LOVE Mayor Pete, but I really think he needs more experience. At this point, I'm team Bernie + Warren all the way.

but Millennials are as big a voting force as the Boomers in the USA, at least in terms of quantity. The problem is that Millennials are not as enthusiastic about heading to the polls as are the older generations.

Like nightstar said. Boomers vote. Millenials,  not so much.  :messga:

Biden said: "anyone who can't afford it get's automatically enrolled ... if you lose your job, you automatically can buy-in ... you get covered" so it's a little confusing imo. but I don't think Castro was right, I gag for the boos

Anything can change but I have many doubts it will

I only say that because we have seen Biden pretty consistently fall since the beginning and there were rumors of a Biden-Harris ticket I've heard which would *really* change the dynamic.

@RAMROD did you watch the debates, and especially Pete's performance? His closing statement was soul stirring and riveting

From a human perspective, this was a very endearing moment for Pete. However, this is a primary where we select the person who is the standard bearer of our party. Pete with few exceptions never speaks with specificity on policy & speaks in sprawling platitudes. You can say he has plans on his website all you want, but there’s no excuse for him to be on 3 debate stages and for people to not be able to say what he stands for.

I don't wanna hate on Joe Biden but I don't understand where his voters are coming from. I don't know anyone that favors him over the other...

True you see his polls remaining high while nearly nobody in the US seem excited for him...

Make you question how accurate the polls actually are.^^

And the Socialist Party in France has a social democracy ideology, right?

Absolutely. The president of this party is a big defender of social democracy.

A small part of this party used to be more on the left than the average social democrats and now they're all gone with "la France insoumise" a "left of the left"" party that is what's left of the left in France. ;)

Biden was incoherent the entire time and all the pundits have to say is that this debate won't change the race. Wild. It's insane how much we are willing to prop up Joe Biden because he's an old white guy that was Obama's vice president.

I don't give a single **** about whether Castro was rude or unpresidential or what not.

Joe Biden is the worst person on that stage in regards to policy, outlook, and his only reason for being high in the polls is recognition and romantization of the Obama era and he KNOWS that.

The fact that he thinks that it makes him a good candidate or qualified to beat Donald Trump despite his politics being out of touch with many people both in the Democratic party and the large independent and young voting base... well its arrogant, point blank. Anything that hurts him at all, I will support. I dont know if Castro's did, because the DNC and corporate media want him to win (precisely because he'd be a shitty president :rip: ) they will excuse every mistake he makes as just "good ol Joe, remember he worked with Obama"

Obama didnt even want to pick Joe Biden because he disagreed with his politics immensely, and Biden was a garbage candidate back then who seems to have Not learned any lessons.
