Is it unsafe to be LGTB in Bosnia?

Well the society is pretty homophobic but there were no incidents at today’s pride.

It's sad. I've always thought European countries were more open-minded in comparison to American (Continent)

Eastern Europe is more conservative, some are more strict like Russia but some are more open like Croatia or the Czech Republic.

In my country homosexuality was decriminalized in 1997 and 1999 (first one half of the country and then the other which has a majority Serbian Orthodox population).

Just to clarify some things about Muslim countries: the Ottoman Empire decriminalized homosexuality during the late 19th century, long before many Western nations.

@Polupojava sorry but the way you described this pride is totally wrong. Yes there were protest but every protest against pride was peaceful and there was no violence or any sort of provoking. Also to mention snipers and all those stuff is unnecessary IMO. Bosnia is not the most homophobic country in Europe and is not even close to some other countries in Europe. It is homophobic but homophobic  incidents are EXTREMELY rare. Extremely. I live in capital and I know people here are not as close minded as in other cities. I just don’t like how you made this thread more about homophobia in Bosnia and less about the actual pride that was magnificent and amazing. You didn’t even care to share pictures from pride and to made this thread look decent and as a good representation of this event. You seem too keen on the idea to show this country as violent and dangerous and I’m not here for that.

Only western/northern Europe is somewhat tolerant.

The rest can be compared to countries in the Americas

Bas mi je drago da napokon i Bosna ima svoj prvi pride, about time!

I was just bothered by the people who were screaming a*** e**** but there's idiots everywhere, and most importantly, I don't think there were any major incidents
