TheQueenLG 2,469
I don’t feel like the people that open carry are going to care if Kroger wants them to open carry or not... I would think, so long as it’s legal, that people who open carry aren’t going to be deterred. Perhaps this is more of a symbolic gesture.

derpmonster 22,412
How silly of this to be a "big deal" All those gun toting conservatives will suddenly forget all about the private property laws they so claim to value. It's their store, their policies. They should be able to ban concealed carry as well. Also good job CNN for messing up that headline. "Even in states where it's legal" - yeah, no, it doesn't matter if it's legal. Try open carrying in a movie theater or concert hall in ANY state, the reddest of the red. TimisaMonster 31,073
Honestly even if a state allows you to own a gun...that doesnt mean you should bring it into public settings like grocery stores, movie theaters, restaurants, schools, etc...humans are unpredictable even more so when they are carrying a weapon designed to inflict harm on another person Stream my new single, 💜"Heartbeat"💜, on Spotify! Have you not seen the countless murders of black men by authority figures over false claims of guns? The way that authorities calmly take away white supremacists after shooting tons of people? Like I said, people are so hell bent on wanting open carry, but it's not that easy for non-white folks... The NRA wants to arm people, but I highly doubt people would be fine seeing women in Burqas carrying rifles or "thugs" carrying the same. That's the point when talking about open carry and the continuation of what others mentioned previously.
Gagaloo911 12,959
It shouldn't even be a request. It's about public safety. They are a private company, NOT public, and gun violence is a public health crisis in this country. Therefore, they should have the authority to ban products from their stores that put their customers (and therefore profits) at risk. Like a genuine, principled conservative should even support that considering their love for private property and being able to make their own choices as private property.. If those groups started buying up assault weapons and carrying them around, I bet we would get some strict gun laws passed quicker than we ever believed could happen.
