I don't hate her or anything but i'll never understand how she just gets more acclaimed the more progressively boring she gets. Nothing off that album was remotely unique to her or particularly intriguing. I get bored of her endless soft pretty melodies amidst similar variations of instrumentals from one album to another since Honeymoon. Lust for Life was better than NFR imo. Idk if all these critics are paid off or they just je*k off to her because shes like the pretentious indie music snobs excuse to enjoy a pop star.

She doesn't have the budget to have paid reviews, the reason her scores keep increasing is because she was heavily misunderstood when she debuted, receiving 0s from the same critics as Born This Way and being shamed for her SNL performance but she grew from there and so did her lyrics. NFR is kind of her most honest album and although LFL was more commercial it doesn't change the fact that as a full body of work NFR is more cohesive.

I truly don't agree with LFL being more commercial than anything else honestly. I find it just as cohesive as well. I mean whats more commercial than a Sublime cover or Venice Bitch? I mean sure its 10 minutes long, obviously not gonna get radio play, but it sounds like mainstream alternative rock with her signature alt pop flare that had it been pared down to a radio edit would sound aligned with anything by Tame Impala or whatever. Shes not exactly pushing the limits here and shes doing so far more muted than she did on her last release that at least had a warmth to it. NFR to me is more like a Honeymoon, just not as bland and with more structure.
