Why do u expect and want character development from goofy ass cartoons?

Pokemon did do character development though? Ash just kept constantly getting reset to level 1. Misty had a round character arc for example.

I remember Ash having probably his best team in Sinnoh and actually being pretty capable and it seemed like he'd finally win, then the next series started and suddenly he's forgotten how to catch a Pokemon lol. It's just because there's always new kids who are just getting into Pokemon.

This is actually really sad though. He's been around since I was like, 5. Massive part of my childhood and I still check Serebii to see what his current team is like (fkg sucks right now tbh)

Oh this is interesting/weird!

The regular anime has been an advertisement for both whatever game they've most recently released and the toys they're producing to go with it.  Ash went to Kalos when X/Y and its merch came out, he went to Alola when Sun/Moon and its merch came out, etc.

It's weird they'd mess with that now after it's obviously been so successful for ages now!

Oh thank god like I’m glad they did a semi-reboot and change of art style with Sun & Moon, but they need a fresh direction :air:

About the time. Ash was fun character back then and it kinda makes sense when he lost (unlike me beating elite 4 10 times :giggle:

But he was still losing as he's going into another region is just a joke.

Hasta la Vista, bitch. Miss you never, Ash

Would be nice a different approach, something like developing different stories separately and them crossing at some point.

I honestly think they should have retire him long time ago. The same time as when they retire Brock and Misty. It just doesn't make sense where Ash goes on without them on many arcs after  they retire Brock and Misty.

I don't understand. Why not just finish the journey of Ash and pass the storyline on to new characters gradually instead of fresh reboot? We all want to see Ash become the best pokemon trainer ever before it all ends.

Gosh, I haven't kept up with the anime since Diamond and Pearl....I'm assuming the current season hasn't ended yet and he'll end up winning the Pokemon League?
