bxr 1,016
Title; but, tbh this is out of sheer curiosity … what would you say is Gaga’s most authentic era (and why, if you feel so inclined) — whatever that means to you (e.g. in which era was Gaga the most definitively whatever and whoever and how ever Gaga was during that time … which era was the most direct expression of the creative vision in artistic form … as a fan you felt genuinely connected to the creator through their work … interviews were just pure revelation and insight on the vision, process, and project(s) … etc.) Again, idk if this question makes any sense, just another case of the curious

xoxo Craig 55,649
with Born This Way, we only saw one side of her. Joanne, she was much more open. We saw everything, and of course we got 5 foot 2 the documentary about her life, her struggles, the meaning behind Joanne and what it meant to her. Joanne was literally a phase she went through to get her "ordinary gorl" jush But before the fame (literally) she was just an ordinary girl, making music at the piano, playing in dive bars, trying to make her dream happen. I don’t see how that isn’t authentic?

Joanne was literally a phase she went through to get her "ordinary gorl" jush Yeah, I don't think so... The question about what Gaga's "most authentic era" is inherently a little weird because Gaga is whoever/whatever she is at a particular time period. She explained it in the Actors on Actors video with Jamie Lee Curtis. It's not like any of her albums are inauthetic or "fake" because each album is who she authentically is at that time period. Joanne is no exception. At that time, Gaga wanted to create something that was more akin to her "roots" and she wanted to create something that was stripped back, which was totally fine. 🦠🧙♀️🥀📸🎉👻🕺🧟💊💖☎️🔪👤🐺🌱🌎
AlexanderMagno 10,746
Born This Way. And her last true authentic album. It was definitely free of preconceived ideas. There was no agenda, no need to change her image, Gaga was at the top of her career and could do whatever she wanted to. Born This Way was incredibly honest to herself and her vision back then, and everything sound is her own.
