I don't evenn see this as a refutation of whether gay people are born to be gay or not. It just means they cannot determine one's sexuality by looking at their genes. No, they are saying it's complicated and a mix of multiple genes and environmental factors. They aren't saying genetics and biology DONT play a factor - they are saying that you can't point to one specific Gene to determine if someone is gay or not. People are born without sexuality. Sexuality starts to develop in very early stages of life but not in the uterus. That doesn't mean a genetical predisposition can lead to higher chances of being a homosexual in the future. We are not born this way. Except for most of our inherited physical traits, everything is extremely influenced by environmental factors and epigenetics. Example: Your personality is a consequence of how your life events affect the biological structures and processes you were born with. But just like you can't chase the gay away, you can't change your personality, because both sexuality and personality are already well-formed during late teenage years.
