Zander 14,944
But didn't Trump saying something a few weeks ago that he's done so much for the LGBT community? I have to laugh. Doesn't this basically boil down to religion?

Sorry to all you americans, thank god new elections soon I mean Trump could still be elected. The electoral college system works against the Democrats and during the 2016 elections, Trump was the less popular candidate, but he was able to energize and bring out his voter base in the States that he needed (white conservatives/radical christians). The hope is, that he has lost the white suburban women, but we will know in 2020 which is more than a year away. Knew you'd make fun of me

Regardless tho, hes such a horrible human being I cant fathom how ppl can actually vote for someone like trump But im saying ppl can have other considerations when voting besides gay rights. If ppl were voting on that alone no openly gay person would support the conservatives But its ok to have other considerations in politics. Politics isnt exclusively just about LGBT despite what GGD members sometimes act like But yeah Trump is a horrible person and politician in general. I dont understand anyone who supports him unless ur a white person in the top 1% who he caters too Even a lot of rich white males dont support trump cuz they have the decency to acknowledge that the stuff he stands for is just ethically wrong ------- Edit: let me clarify my first point because everyone seems to be misunderstanding what I was trying to say Im not saying this is ok or that it would benefit the economy at all Im pointing out how from other points of view (not necessarily my opinion) that if someone buys Trumps stupid economic retorics and believes he can make everyones lives better economically, that may explain why some gays might make the trade off for what they think will make a stronger economy vs work protection rights I wasnt saying that was my stance tho cuz its not

I- Germany, when it had massive economical problems around 1995-2005 didn't even touch work protection. They minimized the unemployment payment and incentivized people to found companies with a small crew or even just one worker. This, very simplified example, shows that cancelling worker protection doesn't need to be done at all for economies to get out of recession. Trump is also only targeting already marginalized groups with this, which is an extremely hayness thing to do. Your argument is stupid and you know it. Nightwing 518
I just don't understand it. This makes me genuinely upset. Why would you want to even do something like this. What's even more mind boggling are the LGBT people that still support Trump. Honestly, if this passes, I hope they are the first and only ones to get fired from their jobs. Ah yes, I forgot basic human rights have no intrinsic value if they don’t generate higher GDP #’s... Side note: basic human rights, like women equality in the workplace and basic protection for workers, is conducive with long term economic growth; source: any intro to economic development textbook. E.g. LGBTQIA+ citizens can’t invest their savings if they worry that they could be fired at literally any moment if their company found out about their sexuality. This holds true especially as the jobs market tightens.
