You guys are in no danger from Dorian at all.

Literally could not be further from the truth. The cone of uncertainty goes way into Florida, and previous NHC forecasts have shown it being farther away from Florida than the latest one.

You should never assume you are in no danger especially if you are under a watch or warning (east central Florida is under both right now)

There's a high pressure system over the gulf moving clockwise which is blocking the storm from moving pure west, and the airstreams over the midwest and northeast are predicted to dip into the upper Carolinas, which will pull the storm northeast. Of course those two cancel each other out, which is why Dorian is predicted to move so slowly, although the airstreams will win in the end and pull it away from Florida. You guys are in no danger from Dorian at all.

We've heard that a lot just to have storms come right over us :poot: I will continue to bring up Jeanne that was forecast to head out into the Atlantic and die, instead it did a literal 180 and tore right through us.

The latest tracks I see show it most likely heading north and ripping up the coast just before the eye would have made landfall near me. Orlando's in the cone again so...

This is the worst part of these storms tbh. I wish this bitch would just get here already :saladga: all the anticipation. It's Irma all over again.

Yup! We know better, buddy.

Just got the alerts on my phone at 11:30. We're officially under hurricane watch and storm surge watch with possible flooding of 6ft within the next 48hrs :lolly:

Morphine Prince and Rumours are not in Florida, and they were who I was talking to. I'm not an idiot.

Oh mess. Tbf I couldn't have known that but I didn't mean it to be rude, just affirmative. I'm in college for meteorology and I always freak out when people in the direct path say they want to ride it out

Spoiler

Totally not like my grandparents

I do as well. I'm from Florida, and my parents still live there. I'm telling them to prepare for it even though they're not even in the cone of probability at the moment due to the outlying bands.

Morphine Prince

Idk if this is the correct term but I “can’t wait” to see the impacts on the Bahamas. Just to see how bad it was since it’s so strong.

I wonder when people getting hit atm will be able to get online.
