A while back I made a thread on Ed Sheeran and the Divide World Tour, specifically how it had gone on for SO DAMN LONG.

It has just finished and was 260 shows which started on the 16th of Mar 2017 and just ended on the 26th of Aug 2019.

SO YEAH, that's a long time and a lot of shows and I'm honestly kinda shocked it went on for this long and that it was mostly sold out:bon:

It had a total attendance of 8.428 million. That's like two New Zealand's:shocked:

And of course it made a ton of MONEYYYYY. Like $775.6 million making it the highest-grossing tour of all time:staymad:

So anyway he's has now announced he's going on an “18 month break”

'The ‘Divide’ singer revealed the plans to fans at his last homecoming show at Ipswich’s Chantry Park on Monday evening. The show marked his final scheduled tour date and Ed explained that he’ll be spending more time with his wife Cherry Seaborn – who he married in December 2018. Having performed a mammoth 260 shows since March 2017, Ed said: “As you may or may not know, I’ve been on the Divide tour for over two years now and this is the last day of the whole thing. “There is something very bittersweet about it. I love that you guys are here and we are ending it in Ipswich. This is my last gig for probably 18 months.” Read more at https://www.nme.com/news/music/ed-sheeran-announces-18-month-break-concluding-mammoth-world-tour-2542675#Cs3QkB7tqkuOklzW.99

Sooo, no Ed Sheeran for 1 year and a half. Do with that what you will:gaysia:

Anyway, congrats to Ed. That's a lot of shows:rockstar:

Over two years :air: holy sh*t. I don't like his music or his personality or anything about him but at the same time I appreciate the hustle :selena: Get that coin sis :gayhat:

Also please take a longer break, I see 3224 being a good year for you. Wait 'til then for your next release :huntyga:

Literally the only song I really don't like from Reputation is the one he's featured in :messga: tragique. Sis Taylor just wanted the good coin I guess and rode that train which derailed before she even boarded it :huntyga:

Ed did that in 250+ shows

U2 did just a bit less money but in less than 150 shows:ohwell:

Still, impressive:golfclap:

EXACTLY I like him and Taylor as friends but not a collaborators on Taylor's albums (I don't care elsewhere) because EVERY TIME ED features on Taylor's album it always gets snubbed:bradley:

I can appreciate the hustle,

But also Taylor made 345.7 million in 53 shows and only went to Japan in Asia sooo imagine Taylor doing 100+ shows:bon:

Well... adjusted for inflation U2 would have the highest grossing of all time. Ed just passed them by a few hundred thousand. I seriously don’t understand either of their appeal lol

I AM THEATRE

Oh c'mon guys...  making ALL THESE SHOWS is not so easy for anyone. It's a huge number. I think everyone will be bored at some time, don't you?  So, a lot of respect for Mr. Sheeran. I also attended one of his shows and I think he was really good. No doubt he is talented.

I hate Ed Sheeran, but I gotta admit Everything Has Changed is a sweet song. Probably the only song he’s involved in that I like. The Reputation one isn’t tho. :laughga:

I’ve seen Ed twice in concert, once on the Multiply Tour and once on then Divide Tour, and I have to say he commands a crowd better than almost anyone else I’ve seen, and the fact that he’s a one man band and commands crowds as well as he does is remarkable. The Divide Tour was one of the best nights of my life and I can’t wait to see him again someday. He deserves this time off, but I can’t wait to have him back, I’ll miss him desperately
