What a glass half empty way to view this. Some people are just pessimistic and don’t believe in good in this world. Can’t believe intent doesn’t matter anymore, as if human perception isn’t flawed. 🤡ery.

Also... why do articles do this? Even from the larger online-activist communities, there has been like no outrage over this?

Why are they trying to stir the damn pot? There are actual, legitimate issues of racism pervading this country and the world all the damn time, and this is not one of them, imo.

Tbh... this.

I barely saw outrage.

Let’s not forget it’s FBI FACT that the Russians politically stirred the pot to get Trump elected.

We should all be skeptical and critical of articles like this. I hope I'm not sounding all "oh fake news", but rather, media has the power to move public opinion on certain topics. Like I said, I don't know if this publication intended that or not with this issue, but it's sending a clear message.

It would only be a problem if all the men were black. And she was white. And she made them wear symbols of racist history. Or a mixture of all these things. But this is clearly nothing but sexualised imagery for attention. Obviously, a black man was added for reasons of diversification so it just shows that even being inclusive doesn't mean you're going to win. What gets me is that not many people are talking about the sexist angle which is clearly the bigger issue. Even as a feminist woman, I have no desire to see men objectified and mocked by being submissive. I find it just as creepy when it's men it's happening to. Stop with this BS about "sexism is prejudice plus power." Men can endure sexism too and women can totally be the ones with the power over them if they're older, richer, smarter, etc. There's nothing here that takes back the power. It's just wanting to have your cake and eat it. If you delight in seeing men get sexualised and mistreated, you're not a real feminist, you just want women to get a free pass. This is clearly the bigger issue and I don't appreciate an accusation of racism coming in and steamrollering over what was the real issue.

Articles like this only falsely incite outrage, causing people to immediately side with the "not everything is about race", "why did they have to make it about race", "why is everybody so PC", "SJW's ruin everything", etc.

It causes deflection from racial issues that do exist, by having people conflate something like this (which isn't racist) as the same. It's a dangerous thing they're doing, whether they are intending it or not.

Too true. Sexism is clearly the overwhelming issue at stake here but if racism (which is just speculative, it's hardly that) is brought up, it always trumps the real issue. ALWAYS. Drives me mad. I really wish we get to a point where sexism is treated as seriously as racism because I've seen sexist issues thrown aside one too many times in order to talk about racism in its place or omitting clear sexist problems to talk about the (usually barely existant) racist ones. When literally anyone in the world can experience sexism, you'd really think we'd treat the issues equally as seriously.

Black people are really the ones who should be speaking on this unlike some of y’all... some will hate this, some won’t give a damn. But yea, I’m not speaking for my black friends..

And some people never even care to talk about black issues and yet have the audacity to speak on this...

I mean the dude agreed to it no? :awkney:

I don’t see the problem, if that’s how he wants to represent himself for this event, let him be. I’m not a huge fan of Nikita, but I don’t think she’s in the wrong.

for me she treated the sister of another YouTuber I like (princess) like mere trash in her own video without even knowing her

but that's only to me, I think she was already disliked previously

this retro cabaret style is soooooooooo tired and corny. omg. Cardi wore it better and it's late! can these ladies just not?

it's obvious she was desperate for people to know her name. why all this clownery.

And Kanye said that slaves wanted to remain as slaves. Terrible mindset.

against the non-black people in this thread..... my friends of color say otherwise and that’s where the real opinions matter. Not this whitewash.

I wouldn't personally do this myself and think it's pretty off, but what about the opinion of the actual black guy who did it? And why does it need to be made a race issue when it was simply a female power/dominatrix thing? There were two white guys as well. Your friends disagreeing with it doesn't shut the debate down considering there was a black guy there with consent, neither you nor them speak on behalf of anyone else or get to tell anyone what views they may hold.

Yes, it's tacky but I don't agree with calling people racist simply because they don't think that this is racist. That is ridiculous.

Not every situation needs a hero you know.  Fight an actual cause, there's plenty of them.
