Since release, it has been confirmed that a music video has been filmed and will be released Thursday, 08/22 BUT, there's more... MTV keeps teasing a world premier for Taylor on the VMAs, Monday 08/26. Unless they have a special definition of a world premier, they can't be talking about title track Lover. Is Taylor sending title track lover to country radio and sending Cruel Summer to pop/contemporary radio? Similar to what she did back in 2017 for reputation - sending New Year's Day to country radio and End Game to contemporary radio. I think this is likely, thoughts? I want a VMA mic drop moment of her announcing an engagement or marriage right after she finishes performing. I’m a simple guy to please, if you like Melodrama, we chill. Sorry but I disagree. I’m not the biggest fan of Taylor and sometimes I’ve disliked her as a person but she has been writing her own songs since she started her career. She’s talented enough to be called a songwriter. I actually started listening to both Taylor and Lana with recent albums (1989 and Lust For Life) because never really cared about their work before and I do like them now but this is apples and oranges lol.
