here come the posts justifying the actions of the police and Central Chinese government and condemning protests for DEMOCRATIC RIGHTS :triggered: She is entitled to her wrong opinion and hopefully this destroys her career and hurts the prospects of the movie doing well. Shame on her (and dishonor on her cow :giggle: )

When did I say I justified the action of the police? :oprah:

So they are allowed to harrast people in the airport?

Where's the logic in that?

People are being shot in the EYES with rubber bullets and going to hospitals in droves protesting on the streets.

The airport is the only place in HK that police won't dare brutalize protesters.

Citizens of HK are desperate and are asking the world to 'see them' because there are people with your attitude who are just as/more concerned about folks having a delayed flight. Where's the logic in your false equivalent?

Just because you want to fight for your country, doesn't make it okay to cause trouble to other people which they have to pay the price with their time and money, even safety. If the police attacked the airport, can you imagine those people who have no idea about this matter being the victims, talking about human shield.

FYI. I never said they shouldn't fight for their democracy, and I never said that I agree with Liu Yi Fei.

From what I heard, CCTV (China's TV) is of course lying about the whole thing, about facts, and they're not even saying why HK is protesting in the first place :smh:

I know the Arab Spring was only successful in Tunisia but the alternative is just as bad. At least in Hong Kong, democracy has existed for nearly 50 years and people should rise up to ensure they don't become subjugated under a new totalitarian regime. The two situations aren't comparable  imo

The alternative is not just as bad, you get to have the same thing you have now without terrorism, wars, slavery, refugees, economic collapse, and destruction of the country for decades. Plus, many past presidents were much better like in Egypt for example. The reason none of this worked is because Arabs were lying when they asked for Democracy.

Tunisia leaders are now the Muslim Brotherhood, I wouldnt call that successful. But Tunisia has always had the best laws compared to the rest of the Middle East even during the Muslim brotherhood.

And yes im not comparing the two, im just saying my situation where I live is too complicated I dont even think people are capable of understanding it. I cant understand china, ill leave it to them to decide on that.

I’m 100% over this boycott era. MLK did it best. Seems like we boycott something everyday. Screw the other actors and people who spent all year developing this movie right? lol over it

People in HK don’t have the luxury to ignore what’s going on. Everyone has a responsibility to check their privilege to turn a blind eye when others are fighting for their lives in the pursuit of freedom.

HK has had relative freedom and democracy and it’s actively being taken away by one of the world’s biggest human rights abusers. China is a country with literal Muslim concentration camps. I doubt my pleading will do anything, but please care.

Boycotting Disney movies is not the way I show I care, thats how Americans do it. I hear Americans defending Syria for example because its a secular country, but being secular does not mean its good. Same in this situation, Hong Kong Being democratic doesnt mean anything to me. America is "democratic" and look what it does. I wont have an opinion till I know the truth and the complexity of the situation.

Right. You just want them to fight for their freedom in a way that is convenient and pleasant for tourists and travelers. Even though that means they'll be brutally beaten by police in the streets. Kool.

I've lived in America my entire life, and have heard not a single person in my entire life "defend" Syria (expect for Tulsi Gabbard).

China is a country that has million of Muslims in concentration camps. HK doesn't want to become China. This isn't that complex, which is why these are some of the largest protests in human history.

If y'all aren't mad, it's because you're not paying attention.

Progressives and Right wingers defend Syria all the time. I see it on Fox news and many progressives. Ive never seen Tulsi defend Syria being secular, she actually called it a horrible dictatorship, but shes against war in Syria which is a good thing.

I need to make my own research and talk to people from China. Or atleast real independent journalists that I trust who covers this. But im sorry, I wont have an opinion while im still ignorant on a topic, ive seen people do that to my people and country many times.
