In many communities, it is a (difficult, horrifying, and honest) fact that first responder departments are filled with dangerous people, particularly that of white supremacists. In smaller towns, there were plans of klansmen who intentionally and secretly joined local police forces to enact power they deem is right.

What makes this more daunting is that, even if this union boss isn't a direct member of white supremacist organizations, he is still exhibiting and upholding racist behavior that could have been socialized simply as environmental attitudes.

No one should be surprised. But I doubt anything will happen because the police are basically fraternity brothers...

Just remember that those Nazis in Charlottesville have real jobs. They can be union presidents, judges, lawyers, government workers, etc. All working against the greater good.

racism isn't a mistake  you can't accidentally view black people as less worthy human beings. Actions like these are powered through a preexisting continuously racist attitude. The most upsetting part is that he won't suffer any f*cking consequences and this cycle of perpetuating fascism within the police won't ever stop
