What made you stan Lady Gaga?

I am ashamed to say I found out about her on Perez H when he posted the Just Dance video. Used to bop to the Canadian version of The Fame before it was released here in the states.

Well I liked her music back in first grade (2010-2011), I LOVED Paparazzi, and my mom used to play Just Dance and Poker Face in the car all the time

Also I learned of Bad Romance when Annoying Orange made "Lady Pasta" parody :ladyhaha:

Then Born This Way came out and besides TEOG, that's the only song I knew on that album until 2017 :ladyhaha:

In fact I first heard BTW from a Kidz Bop album my littler cousin got :laughga:

I heard the song Applause in 2013 in the car while my dad was driving around St. Paul and I liked the song :)

Telephone, I first heard that song back in 2015 in my moms car... I thought it was amazing at least

Then later in 2015 I first heard the song Venus from a video I saw of a news company saying that Gaga stripped naked at G.A.Y and she sang the song Venus, obviously I was only 11 or 12 so the song Venus was the only think that interested me, Venus is one of my most fave songs of Gaga's EVER!~:firega: And that's when I found some of her other songs like... well actually I knew some fan faves or a little while before that, ex. Monster, Boys Boys Boys.

Later in early 2017, my mom bought the Joanne album right after the Super Bowl show and I fell in love with Gaga again! That album was so amazing and we listened to Perfect Illusion all the time

It wasn't until the Joanne World Tour later in 2017 at the Xcel Energy center that I became a full on "stan", that concert was so amazing and I heard 2 songs I didn't know before, Scheisse and Bloody Mary, they're now one of my fave songs of hers

So to conclude this, I would say I "Stanned" Lady Gaga during the Joanne era

Just Dance (song). I danced HARD to that song. But, when she did this performance

I tried to remember and do the exact choreo for Just Dance and I think this made me a STAN!

I freaked out when I saw those glasses

I saw Judas m/v on a TV channel and I felt myself like "Oh, what was that? I've never seen anything like this!" Her music, performances (dresses, choreo), creativity, courage – all these things were something exciting for me, I was just 11!

I’ve been a fan since Just Dance, then stopped caring about her during BTW Era, and when Applause came out I couldn’t help but STAN. Also the fact that she starred in AHS, which was my favourite show  made me keep stanning :vegas:

It was watching her live preformances. No one made me feel so many different things while watching her. You often think, a performance was perfect, fun, emotional, etc. With Gaga, she provokes this almost visceral thing in me, it can be a very emotive feeling, to just leave me with a WOW, OMG, leave without words just smiling like an idiot cause she was so freaking good, or even cringing, thinking ok that's to much. Either way it's her ability to make feel something while she is on a stage preforming, idk it's the rawness, the perfection and the imperfection that cohabit in her... As for when did i start to stan, it was during ARTPOP, but not because of the album (you see i was a casual fan, that loved TFM i borrowed from my best friend) and found her music videos awesome. By the time ARTPOP was out, i remember randomly reading a very bad article about her lol, so i decided to look up to her, what had happened to her, cause for a while i didn't got news about her, that made me put her name on Google and on YouTube, let's just say that i spended months looking at everything regarding her, especially all her live preformances. Since then i grown the respect and admire her more and more each year.

When I heard Just Dance in late 2008 / early 2009, I didn’t really care for it that much. But a couple months later I heard Poker Face and was blown away. At that point, I was very intrigued.

So, I looked her up on YouTube and listened to a few more songs from The Fame and loved every song that I heard. I was a big fan at that point.

I fully went into stan mode while watching the 2009 VMAs. As soon as she started bleeding at the end of performing Paparazzi, I was completely locked in.

My life has changed a lot since then, and I actually don’t agree with Gaga on almost anything at this point, but I still have tremendous respect for her talent.

I didn’t like the singles except from Judas and her aesthetic during that era has never been my cup of tea. I didn’t even know the album was about gays and I didn’t even know i was gay so i really couldn’t be bothered to stan. Plus many other pop artists were around so i listened to them instead and i really didn’t miss her that much:vegas:

Had heard Just Dance and Poker Face in 2008/9.  Thought she was good but weird.  Then saw the LoveGame video and my emerging gay/queer theater high-school self fell in love.  Bad Romance was something that had my family and friends buzzing and I was excited for the Telephone video but it wasn't until Alejandro blessed my ears that I started "stanning."   I had seen TMB 1.0 in Jan. 2010 and didn't even care for Alejandro live (my ungrateful ass).   Around Springtime 2010, I had taken a course on anthropology and evolution and, after a lecture, Alejandro came on shuffle on my iPod.  With its synths, sick track and lyrics, everything seemed to "fall into place" as I walked toward the lake, under the spring sun to read with a cigarette in hand (I have since quit).  Alejandro resonated with me about the human condition (don't ask me why :laughga:) -- love/romance, "hot like Mexico," the nostalgic reference (Ace of Base, La Isla Bonita, ABBA, etc).  I'm weird, I know :madge:

Her first appearance on SNL. I liked her from the radio, but it was more casually bopping. Then I saw her playing the piano in that orbit outfit and was like, 'this chick is it'... she really seemed so different and amazing to me, I was shook  lol

And I've kept stanning all these years because I think she's just a great person. I like some things she does better than others of course, but she puts her whole heart out there time and again and I love her

Just Dance got on my nerves, poker face was starting to, because they were both played all the time on radio. But then I heard paparazzi and how different it was and the video made me a fan. My mum bought TF for my birthday and I’ve been a stan since :nick:

Sometimes  I find it curious when people say they started to stan Gaga during ARTPOP or Cheek To Cheek when she wasn't the most popular artist. So what it your story?

At first.   She is sexy

                    Sings great

After a while

Good people.  Real from her ❤️.   Intelligent and creative..  inspirational

Now...she gets Abad rap from people sometimes who don't know jack...

like a cat in a sil, I observe life, moving and still. My words give a clue, look inside to see whats true
