LateToCult 40,903
For those that can’t open twitter: “The summer before that election, all people were saying was ‘She’s calculated. She’s manipulative. She’s not what she seems. She’s a snake. She’s a liar.’ These are the same exact insults people were hurling at Hillary. Would I be an endorsement or would I be a liability?”

weed 73,858
that's interesting! Taylor hate was definitely at an all time high during the snake/Kim drama, you cannot deny it there were thousands upon thousands of snake jokes, emojis, etc., so I can see where she's coming from of not wanting to potentially hurt Hillary's reputation (sksks) even further, esp with the "trump was weaponizing celebrity endorsements." Miel 15,009
I... that's a valid thought. I don't necessarily agree completely, but I get her reasoning. It's weird, because my immediate instinct is to call b.s. but in the shoes of many Americans, she made a good point. Where I like it or not. 3 points in and ready for more

DeleteMyAccount 11,881
I can definitely see that. That reasoning behind Hillary is exactly why Dems have a much better chance in 2020 as well. However, it's not like Taylor wasn't shady at all. I feel like it wasn't until now that I've actually started to like her because she's been a ton more honest and open about her feelings. Whacky. It's not something I ever really think of because I am not a celebrity nor somebody who has a really really large platform as such. Especially if I am aware of a surrounding controversy around me that may or may not possibly shift the perception of a particular candidate. It's crazy, and interesting, regarding the awareness that there is a lack of critical thinking, considering the implications that a celebrity endorsement can possibly shift a wave. Hm. 3 points in and ready for more
Miel 15,009
Although, now, I hope she knows that she can utilize her platform anyway. I know she's been doing that as of late, so good for her. 3 points in and ready for more
Dominic 11,922
I dont see why people needed to see Taylor pick a side. The entire thing was daft and she wouldn't have won either way whichever side she picked. The hardest thing in this world is to live in it
Morphine Prince 106,068
The level of self-importance What a celeb thinks about politics shouldn’t be a factor on your political views. Should celebs express their views and encourage people to vote? Sure. But if you’re getting your political views from celebrities or even letting their endorsements be an important factor on your vote.... please stop. Educate yourself properly and not just based on what your favorite celebrities think.

gag 22,449
Honestly... I see her point. It's still debatable whether the celebrities that endorsed H increased or decreased her chances. Still doesn't explain Taylor's past indifference towards any political issue whatsoever though. She didn't need to support Hilary to debunk her Neo-Nazi following in 2016. headspin, happiness, DE̤̣A̢̯͔̘T͏͙̗̟̫H̗̙͡ͅ
