Can't you see?? Apparently he was just an innocent man who REALLY wanted to have sleep overs with little boys. All those repeated accusations came out of thin air! #LongLiveTheKing

The American judicial system is a joke.

Good move.

Innocent until proven guilty is a judicial standard that has nothing to do with MTV. They aren't putting Michael Jackson on trial or convicting him of a crime. It isn't his constitutional right to have an award named after him.

If MTV decides that they no longer want a controversial and polarizing figure to be the face of their award, that's entirely their prerogative. I'm sure the staff making the decision has a mix of personal viewpoints, but at the end of the day having the award named after Michael will be a distraction every year and they don't want that.

After continued fallout from the explosive Michael Jacksondocumentary “Leaving Neverland,” MTV is considering cutting ties with Jackson’s name for its annual Video Music Awards in August.

“There’s a lot of heated discussion at the network about how to handle the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award this year, and it’s getting ugly,” a source told us. “There’s talk about if they should change the name, or get rid of it altogether. [There’s also talk] about who would present it and who would accept it. It’s a mess.”

“MTV [potentially] banning his name is the latest fallout. They haven’t decided yet, but they’ve been going back and forth on it. There are a lot of issues,” a source said.

The award is not given annually, which could also buy MTV time.

Jackson received the Vanguard Award in 1988, and MTV renamed it in his honor in 1991.

But while MTV announced Lopez as the MJ Vanguard recipient last July, ahead of the late August airdate, the network so far remains mum on whether there is a recipient this year.

Detaching it from the pedophile just as they're about to give it out to Gaga. Good timing.

But on the other hand they would bring some controversial artists to make a mess for the ratings..
