Shallow - Grammys 2020 Submission/Eligibility?

I was just thinking about the worldwide success and impact Shallow has received this year and wondered if Gaga released Shallow too early? From what I remember is that the reason why they decided to release on September 27th 2018 is due to the grammy eligibility period. Now with Shallow being one of the biggest songs of 2019, do you think Gaga's chances for the main field categories at the 2020 grammys would have been increasingly stronger compared to this year?

Personally, I think if it was submitted for SOTY and ROTY (2020) that it would win either one or perhaps both since 2019 hasn't had many major releases apart from thank u, next and old town road and bad guy? If Shallow were to compete, I think it would appeal to a broad range of voters thus a high chance of winning compared to the other songs stated.

Also another added question: Is the Shallow (Live At The Oscars) Performance eligible to be nominated in any categories at  2020 grammys? There have been past live performances by other artists that have been nominated for example:

-Adele's "Set Fire to the Rain" (live version from Live at the Royal Albert Hall) was nominated and won best pop solo performance in 2013.

-Beyoncé's "Me, Myself and I" (Live) and "Halo" (Live) was also nominated for best female R&B and Pop performance in 2009 and 2010.

so with this information in mind, can Gaga & Bradley add another Grammy nomination/win for Shallow alongside the soundtrack?

BTW this is all hypothetical talk and I hope I'm not coming across as an ungrateful fan because I'm truly appreciative of what Gaga has given us during the ASIB era.

I still think they should've pushed one more single from the soundtrack after realizing that the music was overtaking the success of the movie during awards season. Then the label could've pushed that single along with the Album for next year.

if LG6 is not coming this year, or at least before the grammys deadline

they need to release, at least, Shallow (Live at the Oscars) along with the release of ASIB in Netflix and push the song for SOTY and ROTY and the soundtrack for AOTY

The real question is… what song will they submit? INLA or ARUTW? They'll obviously push INLA for Best Pop Solo Performance, but what about the other categories?:oprah:

ASIB has no score. There's also no Best Soundtrack Written for Visual Media, only Best Compilation Soundtrack.

You can't have it in both categories it's either Pop Vocal or Soundtrack, can't be even submitted for both. Also the category is not soundtrack written for VM anymore but Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media.- change in rules :selena:

Not a chance

Even slimmer chance than ROTY and SOTY

I think theyll submit this, if they get all the nods I'm not sure. Possibly Maybe It's Time will be submitted along ARUTW.

I really hope they submit most or all of these. High chances of more GRAMMY wins tbh, I wouldn't say this year has been a strong year for music at all, compared to ASIB.

I think it's eligible. There are times when a live version of a song was released officially and got  nomination (ex. Camila Cabello - Havana Live) but also times when the live version wasn't (ex. Beyonce - Halo Live).

You can actually, I believe. Visual media is not a specialised genre field, just like how Shallow was nominated in Pop and V/M.
