He knows his stuff and he should be the one making decisions when it comes to production. Simple as that.

ehh what? it's lady gaga album, not dj snake's. It doesn't work like that.

Sugar, spice, and everything nice.

She is part of the project and she should give him directions but judging by this interview it was not the case. He had to do everything they said and he didn’t even get the chance for artistic freedom.

And it does work like that. If you’re a photographer and someone hired you for a wedding. They can give you some directions but you will do your job because you know what looks good and how to do it.

Some of these people thinking they are auteurs before proving themselves ..... You are DJ Snake, not Wong Kar Wai or Bjork or Zaha Hadid.

For most people in the creative industry, Gaga included, it is all about creative collaboration. Gaga herself has to answer to a tonne of people from her label. That's just part of thr challenge.

Except there's no indication that he was hired as main producer. His name in song credits suggests that his job was to help, not to lead. He was hired as assistant to head photographer (DJWS, Gaga herself).

Agree his accommodation should've been covered for though.

This sounds like he's just talking about his more general experiences before he got famous though... Is he really talking about Gaga here? I don't know, this would seem out of character for Gaga. Didn't he make the foundations for GH and BM? :emma: Surely that would result in some more respect.

@Cosmo Queen Am I right in suspecting he's talking about his general experience working in studios?

You're right !

Actually..... Government Hooker was made using the instrumental he made before. They heard it and called him. He should have been credited as the main producer considering it’s his beat.

I think Gaga couldn’t know if he needed money for flights or accommodations, she probably called him and he said yes let’s do it. And I think it’s the same situation with Boys Noize. She could have been nicer at that time (but we actually don’t know if Snake is referring to her or if he is telling the truth), but Mark clearly said she was cooking for all of them during the Joanne recording, so at least she has grown up

What do you mean by the Boys Noize thing?

I'm going off the Wikipedia page that says that the original beat was made by DJWS and DJ Snake together, and Shadow then changed it up alone, which makes sense considering the credit order. Did he say somewhere that he made it and they called him?

It’s not true tho.. Beat was made by dj snake long before they worked together and that beat was used in the song.
