As everybody else has said, wbk that Gaga is essentially the creative captain on her records, especially with BTW.

Sucks they couldn't accommodate his hotel and flight though sksksk

On the one hand yes, on the other working with her is such a big opportunity, being a DJ, one should see it as an investment in their career. Compare it to Gaga not getting paid for doing the Superbowl despite al the efforts and money it took. Exposure is also an indirect payment.

If it wasn't for Gaga I think Zedd wouldn't have had the success he did.

I see what you mean, but I would think that minimal flight and hotel accommodations provided by label budgets would suffice? Granted, I'm basing this off of my work organization's structure that, while it might be similar in a broader manner with her label, might ultimately be entirely different.

On your second point regarding Zedd, I'm pretty sure you are right :-)

i mean like... i get where he’s coming from but when you’re working for a superstar like gaga there’s really not a whole lot of room for you to do your own stuff. you can collaborate on ideas but in the end it will be gaga’s vision sooo

So why have other people in the room?

phantasmas

he aint mad and his songs/collabs have been climbing the charts so i think hes good

all this proves is that you will turn to gold after working with LG, even if she
personally doesnt fly you in and lets u have complete control of her projects  :ally:

This sounds like he's just talking about his more general experiences before he got famous though... Is he really talking about Gaga here? I don't know, this would seem out of character for Gaga. Didn't he make the foundations for GH and BM? :emma: Surely that would result in some more respect.

@Cosmo Queen Am I right in suspecting he's talking about his general experience working in studios?

I think Gaga couldn’t know if he needed money for flights or accommodations, she probably called him and he said yes let’s do it. And I think it’s the same situation with Boys Noize. She could have been nicer at that time (but we actually don’t know if Snake is referring to her or if he is telling the truth), but Mark clearly said she was cooking for all of them during the Joanne recording, so at least she has grown up

ZEDD was already making his name when he worked with Gaga on ARTPOP. Clarity was already all over the radio. I don't think many people knew ZEDD worked with Gaga unless you are a monster.

At the end of the day it was Gaga's project he was working on and she has complete control over it. If it was his own project for his album, featuring Gaga then he could have had a stronger say. He seems salty towards her because his work got retouched by DJWS. His work with her was awesome though, whatever he contributed.

It does make me a bit bummed. Songs he's worked on are some of my favs on their respective records. Obviously he wouldn't be the creative lead in the room, but I would like to know Gaga's side of this because she's always very open to collabs, *however*, she does have a tendency not to mention everyone she works with in interviews. On BTW it was DJWS and Fernando (plus others not mentioned), AP it was DJWS, Zedd, and Madeon (plus others not mentioned), Joanne was Ronson and Kevin Parker, etc. I always wonder why she does this, especially when it comes to the songwriting and composing of a song where there's a number of people listed and some of them, like Snake, work on a number of songs. I know she's generous with the credits, but even still.

Zedd started working with Gaga at 2012.

Sugar, spice, and everything nice.

Bunch of “I get what he’s saying but” replies in this thread. Expected. There is no but. Her team has money and they could have at least payed for his plane and hotel if they wanted him to work with them. And for y’all to say that it’s expected for him not to have freedom while making HIS music DOING HIS job is just ugh. He knows his stuff and he should be the one making decisions when it comes to production. Simple as that. Just because someone is A list superstar doesn’t mean they have to force people to do what they want and expect them not to put their vision in their own work.
