Kathy Griffin: Bernie bros are like Trumpers; wants a female president

I want a female president so I'm just so torn between Kamala [Harris] and Elizabeth [Warren],” Griffin told BUILD Series. “I wish there could just be like a double presidency without a VP. I just think they're both amazing.” She also added that she loved Senator Amy Klobuchar and Senator Kirsten Gillibrand. Griffin’s attitude toward the male candidates in the Democratic field, especially Bernie Sanders, was not as positive. “It makes me sad...that Bernie and Joe are polling so much higher than these women and I know that dog whistle," she said. "It's even women who are afraid to vote for women." Griffin clarified her feelings on Sanders before commenting on his tenure in the Senate, as well as her experience with his supporters. “I don’t believe Bernie’s ever passed a bill. I don’t like the Bernie bros. I’m sorry. They’re like Trumpers. They come at me and they threaten me in the same way and I don’t like...that base…I don’t like and I don’t trust.”

Centrist Democrats would rather have another weak candidate like Hillary than give their voters what they actually want aka a real progressive platform.

Except our support is based on policies that help the middle class... not policies that target immigrants, Muslims, women, and the LGBT community.

I understand her sentiment but let’s nominate a progressive left woman for candidate. I don’t want Hillary clones or centrists or faux progressives. Either I want a bad ass progressive woman who says enough is enough to not only Wall st but also to the MIC or I want Bernie. If she doesn’t fit that bill, well that’s too bad.

I too want to see more presidents in my lifetime who represent different ethnicities, genders, sexualities etc. but I do not want to see a president who’s not a white straight male just for the sake of it. I want a president who has the best ideas, proposed policies, and will do what’s best for the country. To me that is either Warren (woohoo!) or Sanders.

I don’t think anyone should ever discount a candidate for their gender, race or sexuality, and I think that’s what Griffin did here.

Warren has been openly and strongly anti wall street and corporate interest, what?

She has her issues such as on foreign policy,  but being tough on finance and the military industrial complex itself are not among them, she literally has unveiled plans attacking them as recently as of May. I know she has had a murky voting history on voting for/against small increases in budget at times, but i wouldn't say shes a faux progressive. Kamala is very opportunistic though.

Wait this actually makes so much sense

On his social media, I constantly see people accusing him of being wealthy himself even though he's for fair redistribution and increasing taxes on himself. But it makes sense bevause the alt-right in particular pushes conspiracy theories about Jews trying to "take over" . I'm sure you've heard of all the garbage about George Soros. They probably also clump in Bernie in that category. (and yes I know it's not just the right, but they're particularly nasty about that stuff). 

Edit: and white women thinking they're the most oppressed isn't something new. They've pulled that card forever. Let's not forget a majority of white women voted for Trump.

The "Bernie bros are over zealous young men making the core of his base" thing has been widely exaggerated so people can present Sanders as someone who mainly attract excessive/ still immature young dudes.

It make folks think "if it attracts these persons it has to be an irrational speech made as a channeler for kids anger".

It reminds me of all the little monsters-bashing that was plumped up and mainly used by gaga haters as a good way to indirectly talk sh*t on gaga back then.
