2School4Cool 6,449
I think ARTPOP may be my favorite album cover of hers. See The Best In Everyone
JazzGa 14,621
Yes!! Holographic rainbow fuchsia double foil 3D embossed maximalist glory!! So Versace! So Boticelli! So Koons! So everything! ARTPOP really was a vision!! My old cat is a tough man, but i cant deny the way he bites my hand and he stabs me, he grabs me by my heart <
Inferno 2,880
Why this was not the cover is beyond my comprehension, will never and refuse to wrap my head around that decision, if i ever meet her will i confront her about it? probably not. but it would be in the back of my mind: the cover they chose does match the music though. hectic and busy af
Fresco 1,688
I like the cover. Love that it includes the Venus painting, one of my favorites. Do the b&w statue shards come from a single full image? The venus hand looks like it's dangling the star like a cat toy. I probably would have changed the text shapes. The magenta text font could have been folded along the lines of the shards. AJRocketMan 2,684
I love it so much, I would never change it. The album looks like how the album sounds—Crazy, kooky, colorful, and wild.

Like, on one hand, it's an incredible clash of mediums and colors and tones that it's... like, "imperfectly" perfect? That Koons used a rendering of the statue, as opposed to the statue itself (plus utilizing the reference photographical process in the handbook), is kind of a cool, multi-faceted idea. On the other hand... as much as I, like, get it, I don't necessarily like it? Like, there was so much imagery that she herself was a part of that I feel looked better, even if they didn't represent the album as well as the final cover did. And don't get me started on the fanmade works, which are absolutely incredible. i feel like the beginning of the era started off visually one way, more muted, a little darker, more mature, yet still very very whimsical and artistic. almost bjork esque, especially with all the inez and vonoodh images/fashion film. the applause single art i think was so so so mature and meta, a new era for gaga but the music i don't think was as evolved as thata imagery, so in the end, the more naive, messier aesthetic fits the music better. aaronyoji 2,054
i just think its funny to how she started off the era in a wig cap, dissecting the idea of the performer, and "stripping it all away" and by the end of the album era was wearing this: is one any less ARTPOP than the other? no. but is one definitely more evolved and interesting? yes..... Reginald 13,841
Does anyone have the drawing (I think it was a leaked concept art for the cover??? I distinctly remember seeing this image before ARTPOP's cover was revealed) of Gaga in the ARTPOP cover pose, with a phallic corn cob between her legs, and Hollywood Walk of Fame-style stars flying behind her? It was drawn in a caricature style, on a blue background For reference, here's a different caricature-style drawing of Gaga: The last time I saw it, years ago, was either on here or Little Monsters
TheSlash 14,539
I like it, tbh . Considering the previous covers were all in black/dark blue it was a nice change to have such a colorful one . Color-wise my favorite is Joanne, tho . Ew, David!

Maleficent 6
would have much preferred this. a sleek, modern look... although i guess sonically, ARTPOP was neither sleek nor modern...
