I hate it and I'm in the north, I have all windows wide open and my desk fan blasting all day and it still feels really hot

I'm in the North too. I have all the windows open in my house too. We've got carpets in a few rooms too so the heat is contained during the day and the night. As British people we seem to spend a lot of time wanting summer to come and then when it comes we want it to cool down haha.

I didn't even know carpets made it worse, my room has carpet. But I have my windows open in winter too because I'm always hot so that's not good haha

We used to have a wooden floor in the living room and it summer it was usually cool. When we bought the carpet the living in room in summer became really warm. I assume it's because of the carpet.

I live in the Netherlands and I'm not looking forward to the coming days at all. I don't like heat, I like it when it's twenty degrees with some sun and a lil' breeze, but I'm not looking forward having to hide inside until it's getting a little bit cooler. And at this point, it feels like nothing can wake the general public up to take actions against climate change. Some people might even argue that it's ''nice'' to have more heat.

Exactly this.

Last year it was extremely hot, triple digits. It was unbearable when it's usually mellow here.

Well, you better wear sunscreen hunties. :triggered:

As an American, hot summers are no stranger to me. European weather is much milder in general, whereas North America has always had extreme weather—the Pioneers wrote documents complaining about it and many people who migrated from Europe to America didn’t survive the extremely harsh New England winters.

And by the way, 86°F isn’t hot. :huntyga: Wait until the temperature reaches 90 and THEN I’ll give you permission to complain!
