Such a shame that America has come to this point.  Its citizens are woefully unaware of American history (e.g., black history, LGBT history, women's suffrage, the Constitution, US global influences, what a democracy is etc).

PS: I'd add that stupidity is someone's unawareness of a fact; whereas ignorance is knowing a truth or fact but choosing to ignore its validity (climate change deniers are often ignorant, even though they have heard the science)

Part of the reason is that America’s education system is garbage. Uneducated people are more likely to vote Republican and the right wing know that, that is one of the reasons they treat education with disdain and cut its funding any chance they get.

There's a difference in having a shady past (which both of them have) and using divisive, disparaging rhetoric to literally tear the country apart while holding the highest office in the country. It's unpresidential in every true sense of the word. There's a reason why he and the other bigoted, hypocrite, spineless GOP politicians are getting flak for and are being widely called out for. There's a reason the House passed a strongly worded resolution against his racist remarks. What he's doing currently is using vile, disgusting, racist remarks and rhetoric that is reminiscent of the KKK. What's not clicking? Stop embarrassing yourself.

Also, if you're another MAGA maniac and a Trump supporter, just gtfo, seriously. Deflecting blame, going on tangents to right his wrongs, twisting the truths are all their characteristics. And if you can't or won't condemn his remarks then you're a racist too. Period.

Killing Muslims for 3 decades is not a "shady past", and its not her past, killing Muslims is also part of the present. During Obama and also during the election, she openly said she will be more tough of us Muslims and shamed Obama for being soft on us! I am a Muslim Arab living in the Middle East, im not a Trump supporter American and I dont like him. And its not "presidential" of Clinton to be part of an administration that does multiple illegal wars, illegally funds terrorism, and creating literal slaves in Libya.

The end of your comment is the reason why I made my original comment. Hilary supporters think they are superior to Trump supporters because.. umm.. I.. I still dont know why lol

Hillary Clinton did not involve herself in the behavior that Donald Trump has. You can disagree with her politics, and you may think she's a "shady" person, and that's all legitimate criticism, but this kind of behavior and the exponential rise of racism and xenophobia would  not have happened under her administration.

Sure they are different people and have different ways of doing things but at the end, they both do the same thing. It does not matter who is worse, they both do it and 99% of Americans voted for it in a democracy. Americans love their crimes and racism to be presented a certain way to hide the truth, they dont like it the Trump way.

While Hilary might not have created a rise in racism, she would still support racist laws and kill Muslims for another decade. These crimes would happen without people saying "we hate Muslims" and "go back to your country" but it would still happen.

literally no one but you brought Hilary up. It’s 2019. When will you people realize that she is no longer useful as a strawman to defend any of that racist orange’s blunders?

Neither did I, I did not bring up Hilary, I brought up the hypocrisy of a Hilary supporter.

My comment was not BUT HILARY DID THIS! my comment was about a Hilary supporter shaming and demonizing Trump supporter, all I did was call him out and said he does the same as Trump supporters. GET IT?

People are still going on with this tired false equivalency? Not even worth discussing at this point.

You could make that comparison with literally any politican. I certainly do not support some of the laws she agreed to pass over her time as a politician, but also, there is something valid about the mindset to "pick the lesser of two evils." Now personally, I don't take Hillary as "evil", but even if you want to have that mindset, you also must be realistic about it.

The country was either going to get Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton, and just from their character alone, Hillary Clinton would have far exceeded Trump as the POTUS.  To complain about people voting for Hillary and call them "hypocritical" doesn't really make sense because who else would they have voted for?

Anyways, the point of my original comment wasn't to compare Trump to Hillary anyway. That was the last election cycle; why be so fixated on that? We have to focus on what is happening now  in this country, and just how crazy and insane it is. The president of the United States is telling congresswomen (most of which were born in the US) to go back to "their country of origin". We have people literally shouting "send her back!". This is despicable and disgusting.

No I wont be able to compare Trump to Bernie, Tulsi, or Ron Paul for example..

I dont care about people who vote for Hilary or Trump, but if you act like you are superior and moral to Trump supporters because they support bad things, ill call you out on your hypocrisy. The same argument of voting for the better of two evils can be used on Trump voters too as this is a subjective issue.

The whole point of democracy is to vote for your own values, not owe your vote for an elite candidate. Its the candidates job to get your vote, not the other way around. Voting for the Better of evils will make the system that brought you Trump stay in power. Its not about Trump or Hilary, its about the system that brought you Trump which Hilary is part of. Trump is just a symptom Of A Larger Problem. Think long term, not short term solutions.

I blamed a political party of not understanding Democracy. The person I replied to was saying republicans dont understand democracy, and I said and so are the Democrats.

Once again, when you have people who are literally screaming "send her back"; when you have the POTUS saying racists and xenophobic remarks; and when you have this administration doing such awful and vile things, and you still decide to support Trump, then yes, I think that I am morally superior to Trump supporters.

Like I said, try finding any candidate who has a squeeky-clean record. It doesn't exist. I'm not defending some of the stuff Hillary's done, like I said in the last response there are things I disagree with, but to try and "call out" a specific politician for wrongdoings of their past is int it of itself hypocritical. Every politician has done wrong at some point or another. And I'm not saying that that's right either; I'm just reinforcing that that's the truth of the matter.

About your last point, yes, I think that to its core, people should be able to vote for candidates that have their own values. That is democracy. I'm not contesting that. However, what I am saying that this point is that it's just not realistic and pragmatic.

But when Hilary kills Muslims for 3 decades and promises another decade of it, that is ok right? but how dare Trump say send her back lol

I did not attack Hilary on her past, I attacked Hilary on her present positions and what she promised if she became a president.

I've literally said twice that I'm not saying it's right.

If you also want to talk about the "long term", then think about what this kind of rhetoric is going to do for the United States.

Im not accusing you of saying its right, im simply saying that a Hilary supporter is not superior to Trump because they voted for killing Muslims for another decade and more other horrible things.

Long term, Trump rhetoric wont be a problem if democrats actually supported people like Bernie Sanders. Yes you might risk getting 4 years of Trump, but democrats will actually be superior and win him over in 2020 and the whole system will have to change. over 50% of Trump supporters support Sanders policy this will help change the country to someting different. Now, sadly I think Trump will win in 2020 and corporate democrats will win in 2024 - 2032 with no change in the system which is the real problem. You will have to wait a couple of decades after you are old now to get actual change all because you wanted HILARY CLINTON!!!!!!!

Well, I'm not even that much of a Hillary Clinton supporter anyway. I supported Bernie in the primaries; I only switched to Clinton in the general election. But if you also want to talk about Muslims and their relationship to politicians, I suggest also looking at Donald Trump. His rhetoric and tone towards Muslims has only increased and escalated fear in people of them, leading to more hate crimes and discrimination against them.

As for people supporting candidates like Sanders, we'll just have to wait and see about that. We are still a while away from the primaries being over, so many things could change by then. Let's also remember that not everyone  wanted Hillary. There was a clear divide in people who did and the people who wanted Bernie, and it seems like that might be paying off this time around. Joe Biden can be seen as the "Hillary-corporate Democrat" of this race and we've seen his numbers starting to fall. Nothing's a shoo-in until the last votes are counted.
