Business Insider Article Summary Elon Musk hopes to release Neuralink next year. Neuralink plants tiny chips to the brain that can access the internet. Since 2016, he has put $100 million dollars into the company. "The chip would be designed to stimulate the brain's neurons using tiny flexible threads of electrodes that would be inserted into the brain in a procedure Musk said would be as safe and painless as LASIK eye surgery." He's just odd all-around and a meme on Twitter (look up some of his tweets lol) I think a lot of people dont take him seriously. Also Tesla is apparently actually really bad for the environment because of some material that needs to be mined for production or something idk if that's true though. Like any billionaire venture capitalist, his organizations and companies have done shady stuff in the past, all sorts of things from mining to labor controversies, fairly normal stuff for an international megacorporation though. Plenty of SJW types criticize him for those reasons, and his girlfriend Grimes dipped her toe into the Mean Tweeters last summer and brought attention to their view, that no one else really gave an eff about before. Which brings us to Reason 2 why Elon gets dragged in the Pop-O-Sphere: His ex (?) gf Grimes. She's got plenty of fans who are active on stan twitter and stuff. They don't like that she's dating him for different reasons, just like how many LMs didn't like Carino. As mentioned yeah his businesses have been probably connected to some shady **** but that's not the reason why he's disliked. Honestly I think it's just a general distrust for this mega-rich white guy trying to ""save the world"" and his apparent ruthlessness in his quest to do so But honestly all he's done is make electric cars cool and pushed manned rocketry technology at a faster pace.
