Yes, I still stan what she does now but I do miss how she was in those days. 

But you're not allowed to say you miss the old Gaga because that means "you're stuck in the past and can't appreciate how she's grown as an artist", according to GGD. *sarcastic eye roll*

OT: I absolutely miss her, but it's 2019 now. It's always nice to think of those memories from early days, but that's what they are. Memories. No point in wanting her to be what she was then cause she's not the same person anymore.

She's obviously way less active, less entertaining and less creative. Less dedicated to her work (which yeah is probably better for her health). Her looks aren't as good and she serves them way less frequently.

looking back at her catalogue... it's really evident that most of her early stuff can't hold a candle to the quality of Joanne or ASIB. Just yesterday i realized why so many people actually disliked Gaga from 2009-2014. There really wasn't a lot of substance behind her work, but her mouth was gigantic nonetheless. she seems a lot more grounded and adult nowadays, and not like an annoying opportunistic teenager that says something for the sake of just saying something and provoking a reaction. that was initially the first thing I found relatable in her, but at the same time I was also an annoying loud-mouthed teenager with no clue how the world actually works. she grew out acting like a brat, and so did lots of us (evidently not all of us).

i don't really care about the frequency of her activities, nor about the communication with the fans, or how she acts while she's doing promo. I think that's a very first world problem to have.

Let me guess, you became a fan after ARTPOP? I’ve been following Gaga since Just Dance was released so think about that for just a second hun, almost 11 years. I’ve seen everything happen, I’ve been on this forum since early 2010 when a lot was happening. These days it just seems like newer fans use this forum to post about anything other than Gaga. I’ll always support Gaga, I have a tattoo on my arm for the rest of my life ffs 😂 I’m just saying, her career was booming during those early eras and now, not so much. I like having something to talk about on here that is related to Gaga and what she’s currently doing, but other than the makeup line (which isn’t for everybody, I’m not makeup artist) she doesn’t really have much going on.

i miss her actually and i understand that she is still the same person. however, she definitely has changed in some aspects because not only she has grown but also because of what hapenned to her during ARTPOP. that period of time did something to her and i totally understand her. i was so excited back then for every news of her but during c2c, joanne and asib my excitment has decreased. i like the eras, dont get me wrong but maybe this has hapenned because i have also grown up and things have hapenned to me too. i still check everyday ggd to get news from her though, my love will never go away.

I miss it for the memories BUT idk if I could live without something like ASIB & the soundtrack. Idk, it was very important she took that "break" (not really) after Joanne to do this and the fact that she still is teasing music is awesome.

First of all - this is a Lady Gaga forum,  everything we're discussing is a first world issue

Second of all - to say her early work has no substance is just wrong. Unrequited love, an obsession with fame, an unhealthy relationship with sex due to body image, celebrating life rather than mourning death, having your dreams crushed and embracing the pain, being addicted to praise and drugs, exorcising your hatred towards your rapist. That's just a handful off the top of my head. Not to mention how much BTW the album means to an entire generation of LGBT+ people.

 

To reduce her to an "annoying opportunistic teenager"... wow. Her early work opened so many people's minds to what art and beauty and music could be. BTW as an era genuinely has opened my mind so much in terms of accepting and loving what other people are - things I used to think were weird and ugly are now things I look for and celebrate in artists and friends. This is due to her and her team having the skill and ambition to effectively express a message, and her having the bravery to risk her career in order to spread it throughout the world.

Not sure what the difference between 2012 Gaga and 2014 Gaga is... I started stanning in 2013 and the CTC era was my favorite. New looks everyday, she was interacting with fans every day (posting videos on YouTube, replying to fans, almost a new selfie everyday...) maybe jazz wasn’t your thing but the passion she had was great, not to mention she was carrying two eras on her back at once. So no, I don’t miss her pre-ARTPOP self, I miss her pre-2015 self. That doesn’t mean I don’t like her now, but it feels her persona has just become stale and she hardly interacts with us anymore. ASIB still is my second favorite album of her though, so I don’t think she’s lost any quality.

No, I am not. It's great to look back, but I never the type who wallow in the past in general. I live in the now and prepare for the future.

What happened happen, you can't turn back time. Crying about it won't change anything. Adult people's current state are shaped by their own unique experience through the years. The Gaga you have now is the result of things that happened to her life and 10+ years of professional career. If she feels a better person now than then, we should congratulate her. Cos that Gaga you know and love frim 2010 etc will not coming back. Ever.

Even if she will record the kind of music you used to hear from her, or dress in clothes that you familiar with, she done it none other to please, and doesn't mean "she's back".  That ain't happening. Cos her current state of mind will never be the way they were in 2008, 2009,  2010, 2011, or 2012.
