Because it's makeup and not everyone is interested in that..

"Battle For Your Life" I mean, isn't it a bit much? it's not even related to makeup.. it feels like they are just using the BTW message for the wrong thing..

So sploosh your juice all over me you Riverboy

Well, she gave a speech not so long ago about how she doesn't want to sell fragrances and other products because she doesn't want to be a money machine,  it's bad for her creativity etc, and then she does a make-up line, which is what everybody has been doing lately because it brings a lot of money...
And I'm not really a fan of how she's using the self-acceptance/be strong message to promote make-up. I know Gaga is really sincere with this message but for make-up it's a bit too much

We won't shut up until we get an actual confirmation that LG6 is getting released and you'll deal with it. PeriodT

Excuse my ignorance, but why is Amazon gross?

To quote my favorite employee review:

"In 1863 Lincoln freed the slaves. In 1995, Jeff Bezos found a loophole"

They treat their employees like garbage while those at the tippy top accumulate a disgusting amount of profit. So much so that Bezos has no idea how to spend his money :rip: that's not their only issue but that's my biggest one with them since I'm all "workers rights!!" warrior lately.

🌸Flourishing and vibrant🌼

Might be better if people just step away and take a deep breath. Getting angry at each other and Gaga does nothing.

I don't know why people won't just let her launch it without being so rude, she looks very happy about this and not only are some of the beauty community already shitting all over it, but so are her "monsters" and that looks horrible from every angle. Constructive criticism is one thing but  it never makes it okay to sit on the sidelines and talk smack every chance you get because you dislike something your artist does.

It's happening, it will happen, let it happen. Nothing you can do to change that because you're just watching. Take a deep breath.

Exactly, and at least the perfume felt like it had her own touch, she tried to make it original with the black color thing and the unusual smell.

With make-up its like, well, its just make-up with some palettes that pretend to be special.

And I also agree with you that calling it empowering and stuff is just dumb, and a mockery of what empowerment means. Unless its laced with prozac or something, its just make-up, nothing more. It wont empower you more than any other make-up line in existence.

Just to clear up confusion. I am supporting Gaga with Haus Labs. I was just worried because a leak is never ever good. Especially with the harsh beauty community reviews.

IKR, its the least they can do if they're "too poor to attend her concerts or buy her CDs"

Very sad tbh

My friend tweeted earlier today that he’s unstanning Gaga because she’s working with amazon. I know, dramatic, but is this a thing people are talking about?

I'm not butt hurt about it, I'm just like "meh". It does go against everything she said about selling stuff that has nothing to do with music but at the same time, who cares. Do whatever you want, boo.

But, it’s not like Gaga does this all the time. In fact, out of the very few endorsements she’s done, she always has a deep and thoughtful meaning behind the campaign and really invests her time with the product and promotion. Haus Laboratories is no different. It’s not just your run of the mill pop star makeup line. It’s bold, unique, inclusive, and prides itself on ensuring the consumer does not feel insecure about their own beauty. She also spends a massive amount of time really putting it all together, rather than just leaving it up to a team of marketing professionals. Plus, if it ever comes to a time where her label feels the need to reduce the budget behind her musical projects (touring and album promo and whatnot), then this smart, savvy, artistic businesswoman has the funds to ensure she’s still able to bring her vision to life.

There's various magnitudes of fandom on this forum. Some people are just casual fans who only love the music. Some are followers because of her artistry and her message. And others still are unconditional in their adoration.

On top of that, those that use make-up can fall into any of those categories, as do those that don't use make-up and have no interest. The latter are likely to ignore or criticize the line. And don't get me wrong, its fine to criticize her, but a lot of the time it becomes dismissive or outright rude.

For example, the people that love referencing the video where Gaga says she doesn't wanna sell perfume anymore? It's important to recognize the point of that speech was she no longer wanted to be involved in something she didn't care about. That she could say no to the things she didn't want to do. She has full autonomy to say no to a make-up line.  The takeaway of that video should be that if she's doing a make-up line, she must truly believe in it and its message.

The fact of the matter is that there are many make-up users on this site. All the people saying Gaga is selling out need to keep in mind that there are users that are excited about this, and that the way they express that thought can be hurtful to those that are excited.

not a french fry

I wanna buy it so badly (even tho I suck at makeup) and lock myself in my room and go full glam and take out my secret hair extensions from Claire’s and make fake nails out of paper and steal a dress from my mom and slay the imaginary catwalk

social experiment gone wrong

But she did that with Fame also and we all know she hated it lol. Gaga is an artist and she really cares about what she puts out into the world, I'm not questioning that at all. But we can't deny this is a cash grab and she has been doing a lot of cash grabs lately. Enigma, Software shows, expensive group meet and greets and now this.

Also I don't think this make up line is bold or unique. This is no Fenty Beauty 40 shades revolutionary foundation line. It's just liquid shadow and lip-gloss.  She just took BTW's message and turned into a marketing strategy for standard products.

Again, I'm not super mad at it 'cause at the end of the day, it's her life, her career and her money. But it does go against her message.
