Well people who are aware of historically social and religious tensions between 2 groups know why this is happening in Europe. Not up for the fight that will ensue tho but it is reality.

Nearly half of respondents said that they did not believe they were receiving adequate protection from their governments and 45% stated that they “choose not to wear, carry or display distinguishable Jewish items in public because they are concerned about their safety.”

I hear this all the time around my family friends' Jewish community in the UK. A lot of women talk about not wearing their Star of David necklaces. Also, if something happens around the synagogue antisemitism is what comes to people's minds first.

The synaogues I have attended around where I used to live in the UK all have high security and bag checks.

Sadly, antisemitism is not a new phenomenon but has been going on for centuries. During the Middle Ages Europe was highly anti semitic. And then starting from the 1800's when mass media became popular anti semitism took further hold in Europe. WWI and WWII, and after the wars. It hasn't stopped.

EDIT: want to clarify that I'm Christian and not Jewish, but I like to attend temple and I like to celebrate Shabbath with my UK family.

I love how you completely ignore nazi history and rise of neo nazis in this present day, maybe because you don’t consider them a threat? “Good people on both sides” huh?

You also ignore the major religion which  persecuted Jews the most.

People like you only sympathize with the Jews, when they can put blame on another minority. Like we don’t have countless examples of right wing white christian men plotting to attack or attacking synagogues around the world.

Jews have had to deal with feeling unsafe for over a century. :( This must be stopped.

Imagine being hated for something you just are. You didn't even do anything wrong!

These oppressors have something wrong in the head, I swear.

Inside, we are really made the same. 🕊

No. Is because Europe (as almost everywhere in the world) has an antisemitism problem.

Why ?

Thank you for answering.

Ive noticed that in France. There's a huge obsession about jews, especially coming from a certain community that I wont mention bcs it'll cause controversy around here :ladyhaha:

True. Living in France as well I also notice that and it's indeed this "certain community" as you say lol that clearly seems to have the biggest difficulties with jews.

The neighborhoods where a big majority of the population is from this community have often lost nearly all of their jewish inhabitant. It speaks volume.

Not only a century, 1000 years.

Im close to this community, a lot of my sister's friends have said things like "Jews should go back to Israel" "Jews are an abomination" I even told my sister to ask them if it would bother them if a jewish person died and they said "No it wouldnt bother me bcs they'd deserve it" :saladga:

It’s such a paradox because the same antisemites  want Israel to be gone :rip:

I don't think the ones who want jews out don't want Isreal to be gone. They're fine with them being in Israel since it's far from them.
