Un deterred does not mean impossible to rehabilitate. There are a lot or grey zones when it comes to criminal behavior, especially sexual offenses. Sexual offenders actually have some of the lowest recidivism rates after treatment and from experience, it is better to treat it on a case by case basis and let a professional assess the individual before making any judgment. It's not uncommon. Minors are held to lower standards than adults. What this teenager needs is mandatory mental supervision and counseling. Had he been an adult, it would've been a different story. He clearly understood implications of his actions as he stated it in his text so why shouldn't he take full responsibility? I would not allow no clemency to no one. It's about upbringing and about what you're taught by society. My parents always thaught me that my actions have consequences and if I behave in a certain way I have to be able to take the consequences. He clearly was privilidged his whole life and so he thought he could get away with anything. Just because you're young doesn't mean you're dumb and cant control yourself.
