They probably won't, because this technology required them to kill the mice to confirm eradication, had less than 50% success rate, and could lead to all sorts of side effects down the road. On the other hand, if a company did perfect this, they would make at least trillions off of it. So you're "greed won't let them cure diseases!" logic is... illogical at best.
