Kimmo 80,698
According to Alexander De Leon also known as Bohnes Big Machine only gave one option to Taylor, refusing any offers from her this means that she had not even a single cnahce to even give her bids. sipthistea 21,099
I hate this manipulative music industry and their power games. But justice comes in one way or another. All that those horrible people have done to artists through the years, they'll get back. People like Dr Luke, Scooter Braun and Tommy Mottola are the representation of the worst side of this business. They battle the artist if they don't get what they want. Delicate94 37
Well, this is hardly news, but some were suspecting Taylor was lying about it.
FfFfFfFF 55,818
If this is true (which seems to be) it proves that Taylor's didn't lie in the least. I don't understand how some still defend Scooter.
FlopSlurper 34,336
I've been telling people in here but they were like BUT this BUT that. BM release the contract and nowhered does it mention anything about them offering to sell it to her. It was either sign your life to us or kiss goodbye to your work. Guest
People need to understand that scooter did not stop Taylor from owning her music, its her old record label. Taylor is never going to own her old music and she knows it, her issue is that she does not like who owns it, not that she cant own it. And she cant decide who owns it because it does not belong to her, the record label will sell it to whoever they want, its not scooters fault. ANVEEROY 61,212
The moment Gaga will try to exit her label, the executives will start negative campaigning against her. That's how the business works. ProdigyARTPOP 3,909
This is is probably why Gaga renegotiated with Interscope because they house her albums and leaving them would be against what Gaga stands for

Either way Scooter IS taking advantage of the situation and is not doing it gracefully. He shared a post saying he “owned/bought Taylor Swift” , and has been republishing her albums on streaming platforms just to make a quick money off of her work. At the end of the day he’s still a powerful executive benefiting from something he did not create. He doesn't even have any working relationship with Taylor but will earn cash from her? Its just not entirely ethical, even if the real villain here is Big Machine. that being said, Taylor cannot complain because she DID sign her rights away. Yes she was 15, and yes this is the traditional contract in the music business, but she did agree to it, and even made a statement saying she was at piece with leaving her masters behind. She’s just pissed at WHO owns them I don't think either side is right

Yes Taylor did sign her rights away but she was 15 she cant consent. So I think there should be laws to protect minors in the music industry signing long term contracts. So yeah the music industry should change and what Taylor did hopefully will change what is happening but I dont see scooter as the problem and target.
