A single is coming this year

So after all the mini meltdowns, here's hope for another.

I do have real reason to believe that at least a single is coming this year (if not more).

Since 2013, Gaga has released a single (meaning, a new song that's a standalone release, sent to the radio or not) every single year without fail and it's kinda crazy considering how she's releasing albums slower than she did pre-ARTPOP. Here's a list of years with the singles released during them and albums in italics.

2013: Applause, DWUW. ARTPOP

2014: G.U.Y., Anything Goes. Cheek to Cheek

2015: Til It Happens To You

2016: Perfect Illusion, Million Reasons. Joanne

2017: The Cure

2018: Joanne (Where Do You Think You're Going?), Shallow. A Star Is Born

2019: ?

Whenever there isn't an album, she has released standalone singles to fill the gap. You may say TIHTY was a one time thing. Fine. The two that stick out to me are The Cure and Joanne (WDYTYG) because she had no real reason to release either of them. Here's why:

The Cure: She was super busy during 2017. Had just finished Super Bowl and Joanne promo, was filming ASIB during the summer and working on music for that. Still, she found a song she felt strongly enough that she released it.

Joanne (WDYTYG): The tour was cancelled. People had kind of already thought the era was over. It was a surprise release. Yes, it was cute and a happy ending to the era but there was one more reason:

I think she just wants her fans to have at least something new every year. And if that goes on, even if we don't get LG6 this year, we will get a single.

Fun Fact:

The only year in Gaga's career since 2008 where she didn't have a single was 2012. Even though TFM came out in 2009, Telephone was released as a single in 2010.

The only years where she didn't have new music out in that particular year were 2010 and 2012.

And y'all have the audacity to say she doesn't release enough. :huntyga:

I've lost all hope tbh. A new one will eventually come and then I'll be fully back on the hype train. As long as Gaga is fine and other people release bops I'll be fine

I'll Never Love again was released as a single in France too so we already have more singles than in 2017 and 2015. :messga:

Clover and ARUTW (pop version) are coming with the deluxe version of ASIB right before the Grammy nominations come out

She released ASIB at the end of 2018 though and the songs of the soundtrack that were popular have been popular all through 2019 so far, I don't think she feels the need to release anything this year to trump that

While ASIB was much more successful, it's not like she didn't release The Cure just a few months after Joanne anyway. And it wasn't about what would be super popular because it's not like she promoted The Cure. She may as well have released DiC or something as a single.

I'm actually glad she's not releasing now—she'd get crushed like everyone else by Lil Nas X. I doubt Gaga cares about the charts that much, but the million concern troll articles about Katy and Taylor's future albums would have happened to Gaga, too, and lowered some of the buzz.

Plus, the Polydor thing is the only legitimate "leak" imo and is a sign that Gaga's coming in 2019.

Well we've been getting new music every year since 2013, that's the thing. We got TIHTY and The Cure to fill gaps instead of just new singles from an existing album.

An album is coming this year.

Stop the drama and just be patient. In 2013 and 2016 we were in the extact same place before she announced and started her campaigns late summer for a fall run.

True, but that Polydor thing did seem legit (and I'm usually the first person to think leaks are bullsh*t). Also, October would kind of make sense—she released Joanne in October, the soundtrack came out in October, and it would give her plenty of breathing room after Taylor but before Adele's usual winter release (Rihanna doesn't sound like she's coming soon, and I doubt Bey will release this year).

Everything announced on that official Polydor list happened so no worry Lady Gaga will be coming.

Monsters seem to forget 2019 has 12 months.

I lost the last hope. I don't even care about her music yet. I'm forgetting about her, maybe if she'll release new music I'll back, it's so annoying waiting and waiting without the end and thinking she'll perform new music on every next event. Now I'm going to listen to Melanie Martinez, she's truly an artist.
