This! 100% same. I would say I’m a bisexual woman. I connect with women on every level, even sexually sometimes, but I prefer to be with a man. I have a hard time being emotionally attached to a guy. Just hoping one day the right one comes along.

I hate this discussions, and I’ve had my fair struggle with accepting bisexuality.

i wish people didn’t judge you for not being straight, because it’s the only reason why I’m awkward and jealous of bisexuals, they get to be normal most if not all the time, and only choose when to be “gay” and when to tell people, I can’t escape my lesbianism, it’ll be with me until I die, and I can hide it but it’s not something that makes me happy. I think that’s why a lot of gay people kinda, reject bisexuals, we don’t get to escape our sexuality, but bisexuals can, they can be straight passing, and just not say they like the same sex. Or just say “I like girls/boys sometimes” and that’s it, not much consequences

but I’m also aware those are my problems to solve, if Gaga says she is bisexual, she is, end of

this thinking is so biphobic, bi people cant "escape their bisexuality" its not  a switch we can turn off. we still like the same sex and cant escape that. 

if we going by that, then its the same as saying that if lesbians or gays want to hide their sexuality, they can just not have a relationship, its just extremely hard and damaging.

Well yeah, but many marry straight people and other people won’t know they’re bi unless they tell people, and is not like me marrying a straight person, cuz I’d suffer, they get to actually be in love with this person and happy. Of course you can’t switch it off, that’s not what I’m saying, but they can just, not say it unless needed, and of course there’s bisexuals that marry the same sex. Sorry if I come off as biphobic I just, I’ve been trying to get informed and understand, I’m still learning and would love to get more input

Well she also has said it throughout her whole career, and Lady Gaga is not one to hop onto trends. I don't know if this was the same for pop stars, but Shane Dawson has made it clear in the past that back in 2008 it was not trendy to not be straight as experienced through hate comments on his YouTube channel in the early days before he came out.

Same on Drag Race. Why say that? Why not just say the obvious, which is that she's a bisexual and thus part of the community, and able to speak for them?

You can of course try to twist Gaga's statements into them making sense but it's exactly the fact that she chose an alternative to the much more sensible standard ("I'm bisexual") that is so unusual and weird.

The Pulse shooting speech is harder to justify, I'll give you that, but I don't see anything wrong with the Drag Race one.

Sure, she could have stated that she's a bisexual woman, but also saying that she's not "fully gay" is just a fact of the matter. If she said she was gay, then people would question that.

But the conversation wasn’t at all about being gay or whatever, she started that conversation herself  And she literally said she wasn’t necessarily a part of the gay community. That’s bs because she is.

Well, she didn’t start the conversation herself. They thanked her for all her bravery and courage to speak up for the LGBTQ community, and then she talked about it.

I took that comment as “I may not be gay, but I fight for you because it’s the right thing to do” sort of a thing. When she referred to the “community”, I think she was talking about the gay community.

The problem with bisexual people is even the LGBT community make us feel that we are not bisexual, they are all the time measuring how bi we are. If we are dating a girl we are lesbians, if we are with a boy we are straights. The bi erasure is so big that even Gaga is afraid of calling herself bisexual or part of the community. Tom, her stylist called her “an ally” in his last post so yeah, even the people around her are calling her like if she is not part of us just because the level of queernes you have to be for some people. Even if you like girls only a 10%, you are still bisexual.

As so many have said, you should not have to justify who you are! 

I have been listening to the audio from Apollo quite a lot. And something that I didn't pick up on until I was listening through the audio to make sure the files I split were seamless is that during one of her speeches at the Apollo concert she actually says "our community". She does hesitate a bit before saying it, and I understand if she stuggles to include herself because people are so darn judgemental. I never told so many of my friends that I identify as bisexual because there is resistance if you don't identify as either homosexual or heterosexual. Everything is not black and white.

I freaking blame RuPaul’s Drag Race. They ended the conversation at the part where she says “I’m not a gay woman” because her bisexuality has been debate for years.

like she says she’s attracted to women when describing poker face and at the german ARTPOP interview debuting Gypsy.
