Pretty sure he meant "I'm not here to ask for your vote".

That means he's separating running his city as a mayor and running for president.

So you need to take several seats.

I think YOU need to take a seat because this aggression is coming out of nowhere. 

I also think it’s a dumb thing to say because he could have literally replied with anything else.

Pete in my opinion is the current dark horse for the Democrats going into 2020. I've seen a lot of coverage over these clips and a lot of folks have been writing off Pete because of it. Unfortunately, he can't really say anything that'll satisfy the protesters considering this is an ongoing investigation from what I recall. Siding with the protesters would also in reverse dissatisfy his white voters. So he really can't win here. The best he can do about this is to start talking about his policies about police reform/etc. Especially with his hometown constituents.

Pete was also seen in another clip saying that black lives matter with the same protesters getting angry over that. So again, he really can't win. But I understand your point. It's just one of those crappy positions to be in.

The longer video shows he showed up in person to listen to people who were very angry. He didn't lie or make excuses.  He agreed to an independent outside investigation. He remained calm and engaged while inviting the community to join the conversation.

Hands down, he's the best Democratic candidate. 
These people are acting so loud and disrespectful. 
She really thought she was doing something with the "you ain't gonna get it" remark. 
The current President did just fine with 8 percent of African-American voters.
