They also have special autonomy in some things. For example they even have their seperate EI and government Retirement system Quebec is like Hong Kong in China. They are technically part of the Nation but in many aspects operate seperately Thank you very much for the information, but Canada has several regions or autonomous states or Quebec is just an exception? 𝖎 𝖜𝖆𝖓𝖙 𝖞𝖔𝖚𝖗 𝖘𝖙𝖚𝖕𝖎𝖉 𝖑𝖔𝖛𝖊

To tell me god bless you when you know that I'm an atheist, it's disrespecting. There's this idea that we always need to respect religious people, but atheists don't get respect back. It's easy to say "move on with your life" but you know that it's not like that in reality lol It's understandably that people talking to you as an atheist about God or demanding you to change your ways is offensive. But someone wearing a cross or covering their heads with a shawl or scarf does not mean anything unless you who looks at them thinks it means anything. If a white lady wearing a head scarf covering over her head like a muslim women do, do you automatically think she's muslim? I've known atheists worn crosses as accessories because they think it looks nice. But it doesn't affect anyone else because everyone is entitled to wear whatever fashion accessories they want as long as they do not force others to do so. Christians saying "god bless you" should only be taken as them giving you their version of a well wish, you should only take their good intent. If that bothers you so, then nobody in this world could ever wish anyone anything anymore in this world. I've known people who doesn't believe in birthdays or celebrating it. But that doesn't mean they will be offended when someone wishes them "happy birthday" because they know they're only giving their good intent and well wish for you. So it all depends on how you perceive anything and this is why the world is becoming more butthurt by literally anything because they take everything to be an offense. We are talking about official offices, not on the street. I don't care what happens outside those buildings, but when I come to make a new passport for exmaple, I don't need to see a cross in front of my eyes, it should be professional, just like I will not put the gay flag if I was the worker there, the place should be neutral from politics, religion etc. Like I said, I will respect anyone's belief outside of those places, even in my house, many times my muslim friends prayed in my house or I prepared Kosher food for my Jewish friends, I really don't mind, but in exchange they know not to talk to me about religion. Perhaps look at it this way. It's one thing for the government offices to hang the crucifix on their wall, or any Muslim/Christian scriptures from the Bible or Q'uran on walls and tables, but it's another thing to stop people from wearing any clothings on their bodies unless they are wearing shirts with religious slogans meant to convey a direct message to anyone that sees them. A hijab or turban is them covering their heads as it is essential for them to do so to practice their religion and it doesn't hurt anyone directly. They are just people working to provide you service, not to talk to you about God. That's it, they're just people wearing accessories.

You can disagree with me and it's fine for me, but there's a way to say it. because this is how I feel honestly, it's the most simple explanation, I don't believe in god and I want to be respected and not to connect me or wish me things that considering god. Respect is both ways, just like I will not serve pork to a Jewish friends inside my house, because I respect them. Grow up I gave an appropriate response to someone who is offended by the words bless you. Like if you’re honestly attacked by that you have serious issues... In the 1940s I believe it was they tried to ban Jehovah's Witnesses In France also for JW they made an insane tax specifically for them not long ago and the courts said it was discriminatory In France as well as Quebec there's also been a lot of discussions over Muslim head coverings Something about the French Governments... They don't seen to like religion and foreigners What am I reading? France never made a tax especially for JW. This organization was just considered like a sect and not a religion and thus wasn't benefitting from some tax cuts. Every instances of our French courts ruled on French State side. Only the European Court didn't. And "not long ago" was from 1994 to 1997. The separation of the religion and the State happened more then a century ago in order to reduce the influence of an external entity over the nation and rightfully so. Secularism is part of our culture yet I've never seen anyone not being able to practice its religion freely (except in school maybe because of the principle of neutrality but even there my Muslim friend was just taking off her hijab in front of the school and putting back after and she was fine with it) French governments like religions, officials go to every big events, Macron and Sarkozy both said that religion can be important. Secularism isn't about banning religion, it's about allowing the entire nation to practice its religion without one becoming too powerful and threatening the others. And to do so you need a completely neutral State hence the separation between State and separation. And saying French governments not liking foreigners I have to laugh. That is RIDICULOUS. Our history is deeply rooted to immigration and a huge part of French population is from immigrants descent
