They also dont have a whole system that protects them if the crime is exposed. Being a religious leader is a safe place for horrible people and attracts psychopaths. Any position of power attracts these kind of people with with religion, its is tripled. They are so powerful that people will start defending crimes openly to protect the religion leader and are willing to hurt and destroy their families because of a religious leader.
