I mean I get it. Gaga's starring role in Hotel was recieved well amogst critics but amongst AHS fans and some LMs it wasnt all that great. This was a classic movie that has been remaid 2 times before 2018, and both female leads were significantly more versed in acting than Gaga was/is. Gaga is by all means a novice when it comes to acting as she has had 3 large-ish scale roles thus far. I can understand Liza saying Judy would have laughed at the initial idea given how wild Gaga used to be and how mature and poised this role would be in contrast. Judy was a classic Hollywood actress and well experienced in musicals and Gaga wasnt/isnt so she probably would have thought "well thats a new one".
