So I never went through what all countries around me went through. Most Gulf Countries are very safe. Yes its true everything went bad after the World War when the Ottoman Empire ended and the Middle East was divided into small countries and Sykes Picot happened. I'm so happy to know you and your family are safe I'll just keep informing myself on this issue and trying to spread the truth to people around me. It's all one can do at this point in regards to the Middle East - North Africa region. As much as we spoke about the negative things happening I guess we also have to remind ourselfs that there is also some safe countries in that region ex: Tunisia, Gulf Countries, Morocco, Turkey (?), Lebanon (?) etc... they could of course be better but at least they are relatively safe-ish and on the right track generally speaking. We also have to remind ourselves that the region has brought us sooooo much good and I am hopeful it can do that again. It just needs peace and though we know peace will not come for a very very long time it is not impossible. Like you said power dynamics shift and change ALL the time. When American imperialism ends maybe the next dominant super power will be a little more easy going with the region (or better yet...with the entire world).
