The fact that half the population of Yemen may die...all because Saudi Arabia and the US are teaming up against it in such a horrible way... and then the poor Sudanese ppl who protested their corrupt government in such a peaceful way, managed to oust their dictator and continued to peacefully protest to have proper governance and elections after their corrupt dictator got ousted ended up being attacked by the military in a brutal crackdown on unarmed protesters...I just do not understand. So friggin sad ugh The same exact thing happened in Egypt during the Arab Spring! they kicked out the president but then the military created a genocide against protesters and labeled them terrorists. Like the ppl, the citizens, the millions of people WANT change but a few at the top do everything in their power to stop progress. It's like the Middle East is destined to eternal warfare, civil wars and militarism. There have been many episodes of peace but for now it seems like an endless cycle. For example, the Yemen war is not between Yemen and Saudi, its between Saudi and Iran but in the lands of Yemen. Syria is controlled by more than 10 different foreign countries. Our terrorists are funded and weaponized and used as a tool for foreign government. Dictators are funded to stay in power by foreign governments. I agree that like most of it is because of proxy wars and foreign entities fueling horrible dictators and factions in the Middle East. The sad thing though it that it will stay like that for at least another century or more. Currently Russia and China are entering the playing field in the Middle East for the first time (first time for China at least in a proper sense). The Middle East's geographical location between Europe, Africa and Asia has been a blessing and a curse ever since ancient times and it seems the fact it is on oil rich lands and in between all three continents will keep it as the war zone and playing field for all these nations to flex their might and influence. There is no chance for a country to develop unless it has continuous peace for atleast a 50 to 100 years at a time. Almost no damn country in the Middle East has had that...there's ALWAYS something going on from one country to another to another. Literally a nightmare and endless cycle. This is also why extremist groups gain so much traction from young men...it's because the ppl there are DESPERATE. Even after writing this paragraph I was about to write "only God can help the Middle East". It's so easy to turn to religion when you feel things are hopeless and sadly foreign powers know this so they help fuel "rebel groups" which always end up becoming terrorist factions that end up twisting religion or using only a few lines of whole books to fuel "religious based violence". Ugh...there's just SOOOOO much going against the Middle East. I used to be an idealist and say that there is hope for the Middle East but now I literally just feel like there's none at all. He said that because Yemenis and Sudanese are usually of a darker skin tone and look more like a stereotypical idea of what a Middle Eastern person looks like, ppl have less sympathy for them and so they care a bit less. I don't personally think he is right but I also do not deny that there was large fascination towards Syrians at least where my family is from and a few whispers of comments like " well at least they can integrate because they look like us..in time you wont even know if they are Arab!". Until foreign powers stop trying to intervene and fund terrorist groups then it will never end. Change cannot be forced by toppling government after government creating a void that gets filled with extremists until there's no one left, it has to come naturally. The Middle East is currently at it's lowest. Actually I think ever since the Ottoman Empire desolved the Middle East has been going in a non stop downward spiral. Ever since WW1 things have been going really really bad for you guys. (I'm not saying the Ottoman Empire owning the Middle East was a good hting by the way. Thank you! and yeah but luckily I live in Saudi its completely safe in terms of wars because we are Americas biggest ally. So I never went through what all countries around me went through. Most Gulf Countries are very safe. Yes its true everything went bad after the World War when the Ottoman Empire ended and the Middle East was divided into small countries and Sykes Picot happened.
