Gaga is a dumb bitch

Well tbh it's kinda fair as Bradley is the crucial part of Shallow. The album however should count just for Gaga as her solo songs delivered most sales units :(

But yea, to answer your question, I believe Katy would be ahead of Gaga even if the ASIB era is credited just to Gaga. Like, how can Gaga compete with this

#1 California Gurls                                                                          #1 Born This Way
#1 Teenage Dream                                                                         #1 Shallow
#1 Firework                                                                                        #2 Bad Romance
#1 E.T                                                                                                     #3 Telephone
#1 Last Friday Night                                                                     #3 The Edge of Glory
#1 Part of Me                                                                                    #4 Applause
#1 Roar                                                                                                 #4 Million Reasons
#1 Dark Horse                                                                                  #5 Alejandro
#2 Wide Awake                                                                               #6 You and I
#3 The One That Got Away                                                     #8 Dope :smh:
#4 Chained to the Rhythm                                                       #10 Judas

Gaga has the album charts which also play an important role. In this metric Katy only did mediocre unlike Gaga who always performed at least decent.

Teenage Dream sold 3.1M copies, and spent like 250 weeks on the chart, PRISM did over 1.7M. So when it comes to success on the Billboard 200 chart

1. Teenage Dream
2. Born This Way
3. PRISM
4. Joanne
5. ARTPOP
6. A Star Is Born (50%)
7. Cheek to Cheek (50%)
8. Witness

Gaga wins ofc, but I don't think it will be enough to cover the difference with singles. Katy had 8 #1s and still holds the record for most consecutive weeks in the top 10 on the Hot 100 - 69 weeks.

When doing decade-end etc does Billboard double-count single sales? Like if Dark Horse is 8x platinum, and gives 300k of album sales to Prism, will both be included? If that makes sense

I just wanted to remind you that this is Gagas big player. You also can't underestimate The Fame which regularly appeared on year end lists during the 2010's.

Good question. I don't think so, that wouldn't be really fair.

I guess our advantage in the album side: The F(M) sales this decade

And I want to remind you that miss Perry slayed harder than any other artist on the Hot 100 this decade :ohwell:

On the Hot 100, Drake, Taylor, Maroon 5 and Rihanna did better than Katy Perry because they didn't stop having gigantic hits after 2015 :ohwell:

Hmm. Only Drake might be higher than Katy. Let's compare the biggest hits

Drake

- Hotline Bling
- One Dance
- God's Plan
- Nice for What
- In my Feelings

- Dark Horse
- Roar
- Firework
- E.T.
- California Gurls

Seems like Katy wins, especially since In My Feelings didn't have much longevity after falling from #1.

It would be cute if Beauty and the Beast tops The Lion King in the US, and with a smaller budget by $100m too I might add.
