ACR can make a song go from #1 to #2323232, that doesn't affect the certification. The way it works is, a song decreasing for a thrid week in a row means 50% of it chart units in that week are subtracted. For example : Week 9 : 50,000 Week 10 : 49,000 week 11 : 24,000 (48,000 but 50% subtracted due to 3 week decrease) However when it comes to certifications 48,000 are counted and not the 24,000. My point is about it going gold and being ACR takes it at a lower position on the chart and less visible to buyers (the latter is my main point that maybe I should have made clearer). It’s on around 220k now probably as it was just certified silver this week. I cannot see it selling 180k more units in the UK when it is dropping, ACR or not.
