Strategy for buying last minute tickets?

Hey everyone! I'm going to see Enigma on June 8th, but just realized I can't pass up the opportunity to see the Jazz show on the 9th.

So my question is - does anyone have experience buying solo tickets and know when the best time to buy is? Would it be better to buy now, or to wait until last minute in hope for a price drop for single seats?

What sucks about buying a single ticket is that the price per ticket is higher than when buying a pair. :/

Just curious if anyone has experience with this or suggestions.

UPDATE: I bought a single ticket on ticketmaster and it was only $198 after fees. :ohwell:

Balcony, but still. The stage will be visible. :legend:

Waiting paid off for me. I did buy tickets via Ticketmaster a couple months before the J&P show on June 9, but they were balcony seats and I really wanted floor seats. I stalked the Ticketmaster site daily starting 2 weeks before the show, and after several price drops, scored 2 tickets in section 102, Row D, seats 19 and 20 (aisle seats on the piano side of the stage) for $750 each 4 days before the show. They were Official Platinum Tickets, and the asking price 2 weeks out had been $1995 each. Considering our balcony seats had been $250 each (these were Standard tickets), I think we scored! I have no idea what the original selling price for those seats had been. We sold our balcony seats to friends who joined us in Vegas last minute for face value, so it worked out really well for us.

I agree that the $1500+ tickets are just a ridiculous asking price, but honestly, for the experience I had, $750 was a STEAL, now that I think back on it. I don't go to concerts, really, so for me, spending this money to see Gaga (whom I have been a fan of since her first album), was 10 years worth of missed concerts. LOL. I was too busy being a mom with a military husband that was always deployed for those 10 years, and never had the chance to attend a concert.

I plan to buy tix for Enigma and another J&P show when they go on sale in a couple months for next year. Hoping to score similar seats but for opening day prices, not the "fluctuate based on demand" Official Platinum prices.

Does anyone know how much floor seats were going for on opening day for Jazz and Piano shows?

Ticketmaster has made y'all believe that even 750 dollars are a normal price. Trust me, it isn't.
But of course I'm happy that you enjoyed the show :)

Still doesn't take away that those prices are exaggerated.
