For example, Taylor recently broke the record for most views on YT in 24 hours with over 65 million views for 'ME!' but Katy Perry has just 22 million in around 3 days. So what's the attraction of TS? I understand the appeal of a lot of artists who are incredibly popular. E.g. Adele is soulful, witty, humble and vocally strong, Justin Bieber is a throb and releases consistent modern hits, Ed Sheeran is the typical 'me and my guitar' guy and Ariana is the queen of the social media age and has a colossal vocal scale. *this is a thread for genuine answers, if you're going to post nasty responses - please don't* Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

The lyrics are good, became successful, etc. She became more of an icon/in the public sphere when the Kanye West incident happened, and she's just became more successful since. But shading your famous exes by writing songs where you victimize yourself and use them to promote your carrer.
